New version 1.5.2 of AROS distribution Icaros Desktop has been released. The update brings fresh system files, some new applications and many bug fixes, improving speed, stability and compatibility. Version 1.5 of the popular AROS distribution Icaros Desktop is now available for download. The new release heavily reworks file structure, installation procedure and M68K environment, which can now run both games from ADF files and classic Workbench applications without the need for original Amiga KickStart and operating system.

At AmiWest 2012, Samuel Crow and Jason McMullan will be representing AROS, on October 19 and 20.

New AROS DevPak for AmiDevCpp

The last AROS DevPak for AmiDevCpp has included all System-Includes and Linker-Libraries but unfortunately was missing most of
the contrib-Includes and Linker-Libraries.

Krzysztof Smiechowicz has asked to longer be assigned to the Zune Enhancement bounty project. He kindly shared his work so far and had the following to say about his progress:

"The work is around 20% done. All improved code has been committed to both ABI V0 and ABI V1 branches.

Editor Rohan Pearce, who recently wrote about AmigaOS 4, has made a interview with Paolo Besser, mantainer of Icaros Desktop, and published a great overview about it on the australian IT website Computerworld Techworld.
