San Antonio – September 22, 2008 – power2PEOPLE is pleased to announce its latest bounty initiative. Chris Hodges, the original author of the Poseidon USB system, has proposed to undertake the task of porting Poseidon USB to AROS and release his work under the APL (AROS Public License) transforming Poseidon USB into an open source project. For this to become a reality, it will require a total amount of donations of at least $4000.

The Eternal Lands client 1.7.0 is now available for download from AROS archives. Eternal Lands is a free MMORPG game. You can learn more by visiting their home page at http://www.eternal-lands.com/index.php

The binary archive contains also the source code patch, allowing in future to build new versions of client as well as port it to other Amiga systems. :)

Pavel Fedin has been assigned to port AROS to Windows/Cygwin. Basic emulation functionality shall consist of WinAPI graphics HIDD, native Windows keyboard and mouse HIDDs. These basic functionalities should be included by the tentative deadline of March 31, 2009. Further goals consisting of networking, sound support, and other functionality will not be required for the completion of this bounty.

A new DevPak for AmiDevCpp is available. The DevPak contains the actual AROS SDK and Documentation.

All AmiWest 2008 hotel bookings made with the former Clarion Hotel Cal Expo before Sept. 8, 2008 have been canceled. The new owners of the hotel have lost them. VmwAROS website has changed its face. The new layout is more professional and includes a new navigation toolbar on top, which should help people surfing the site.

Nick "Kalamatee" Andrews has successfully added window snapshot option to Wanderer, slightly increasing AROS interface realiability. Now it is possible to save position, size and icon/all files view for any window on writable medias. For read-only ones, like CD and DVD ROMs, default size, position and view will be used.

Kalamatee is now working on fixing icons snapshot too.
