Classic Commodore & Amiga (Native/Emulation):: AROS m68k cdrom driver? (and more)
wow! I just booted into AROS from today's nighly aros-m68k-boot disk

now it asks for "AROS live cd-rom in any drive"

as posted before, I have a MTec1230 accelerator board, with SCSI controller.

which CDROM drivers/controllers are supported?

thanks,
ro

WinUAE Startup Message "missing roms" [by magorium]

Classic Commodore & Amiga (Native/Emulation):: WinUAE Startup Message "missing roms"
I know this is perhaps not the smarted place to ask about, but perhaps one of you might be able to help me or can point me in the right direction before I nag Toni about it over at the EAB-forums.

Now that i have setup a WinUAE solely for the purpose of running OlafS3's Aros 68k distribution Vision, WinUAE popups a message window each and everytime i start it up.

The message states: "One of the following system ROM's is required" followed by a list of roms depending on the model/configuration setting in WinUAE.

I know i can simply supply these roms in the correct directory in order to make the startup-message disappear.

But why should i ?

I have Aros 68k roms supplied in the directory it is suppose to, only it seems WinUAE is very persistent about having original kickstart files.

I've tried using -cfgparam configentry=configvalue (e.g. kickstart_rom_file=.\Roms\aros-amiga-m68k-rom.bin) from a shortcut, but unfortenately that doesn't seem to help either.

So, does anyone know if it is possible to let this message disappear without supplying original Amiga kickstart-roms ?

regards,
I own Amiga Forever... does it work differently from the Open Source ROM? Which one should I be using to get the best results on my emulation?

Classic Commodore & Amiga (Native/Emulation):: Problems launching Aros 68k in Janus
II am trying to setup Aros 68k in Janus on my Aspire, and whilst I have the latest Aros 68k iso, I have extracted all files to system, pointed janus to the two rom and ext files. Turned off Janus integration.

Basically I get a black screen with white patches which looks like it is trying to boot.

Any thing I should know ?

Classic Commodore & Amiga (Native/Emulation):: Is Aros68k rommable?
I had another stupid idea what to consume my time with. I once did a mc68332 based cpu board and now I thought to replace m68k on one of my a500 with it and use max3420e's on it's spi port to have usb2.0 host ports and use the tpu channel (e-port IIRC) for ide... mc68332 can go up to 25MHz and is 5 volt processor meant for automotive or motor control purposes... hmmmm...

Works for me:
PPaint
MicroEmacs (from Amiga OS)
AmigaKonto

Works partly:
Kniffel (simpe MUI application)

geits installer replacement (display erros, fails to install it self (directory or file not found at the end)

installerNG works better still stopps with renaming problems
and crashs after.

Classic Commodore & Amiga (Native/Emulation):: Wanderer crashing when trying to run 68K software
Quote:

paolone wrote:
Hello O1i and others,

I have noticed that if you try to run a 68K program on i386, double clicking on its Icon, you get these different behaviors:

1. with Janus-UAE running in integration mode: the program is run under emulation, in a proper window

2. without Janus-UAE running: AROS crashes hard, without any advice to the user

while #1 is correct, #2 is not acceptable. Can someone please look into Wanderer source, and have it showing a simple window saying "you must run Janus-UAE in integrated mode to run this program"? That would be nicer, since it's not so difficult to click the wrong icon by mistake. Thank you veeeery much!

I made the following change to wanderer in order to launch 68 binaries:

- if wanderer detects the janus-uae port, it sends a message to start the program and leaves all other things (error reporting etc) to janus-uae.

- if wanderer does not find janus-uae running, it beahves the same way, it always did before my changes. I am quite sure, it always crashed on 68k exes ..
