binary were taken from http://vice-emu.sourceforge.net/amigaos.html

it is slow, but i personally already find the 2.4 slower on aros than on any other plateform. i can understand speed can be a concern & i really haven't think about it before posting.

i noticed that the version of VICE emulators still bundled into icaros to this day is still the old outdated 2.4 version, i think, it could really use some update love considering the number of features been added since. One of wich i'm specificaly concerned about as an example, being a proud owner of the original C64 CP/M cartridge is the CP/M cartridge emulation itself wich appeared in 3.0 (but was buged) but working flawlessly in VICE 3.1

This misconception dies hard. If you run Friend locally, you're not using the cloud – only if you OPT IN. Will you stay away from AROS because it has AmiCloud?

Cloud == Internet storage and computing services

there is no misconception, stop pretending to reinvent the wheel by using hype technology. I will not i just don't use or see the point of AmiCloud. running localy is one thing, running natively and independantly without netwok requirement is another. no sensible data of mine is on a networked unit.
Quote:

Simple as that. And we're decentralizing it so you don't have to use Google / Azure etc. You can use your neighbor or your PC in the cabin in Switzerland. It's just to allow you to network and share resources. YOU chose with whom or when or where.
decentralizing don't change a thing when you thrust no one.

In other words, the cloud features in Friend is a strength, not a stealthy surveillance ploy.
Today everything is.
Quote:

So while we do offer web access for the vast number of people who find this convenient, the native version of Friend will work exactly how you want it.
native would have to be indenpendant to anything else to be true native. and only then may be.
Quote:
Far from it. Electron and Ionic apps are more like "How to get your web site or app running in Windows". Again - think Chrome OS here.
i can't think Chrome OS i don't thrust it! again i want everything to be local and running at home with near to 0 network dependancy. and if ever i want something to run on windows i code it native on windows.
Again i fail to see any interrest at all in Friend unless it goes full native & 100% local. and then for that we have Aros already wich is more than sufficient for me. and if i want to share something with someone i do mail it (hard snail mail style by the post. Analog life reduce man in the middle digital risk)

One word make me run away as far as possible from Friend, that i have never tested & will never test for any purpose... Cloud. I do not thrust any third party with my Datas, i dunno & never will support dematerialisation of things.

Just got one of those little Acer AspireOne for 50€ on ebay, best 50€ spend ever for an AROS machine.

HDToolsbox is unusable with icaros 2.1 i didn't notice it cause i used to aros install wipe disk but then wanted to repartition another drive and to put it simply... nothing is work in hdtoolbox, the right panel doesn't display any information, the button remove, create table, modify type, rename, DosEnvec, switch stay greyed no matter what device or level in the device you are. the only button not greyed is add entry wich let you put a partion in a drive with a table if there still room in but then when you get back to the device the save button stay greyed to and you can't save the partition you added... this can be really problematic. espcialy for the people wanted to make an usbdrive key as they need to partion the usb key before hand.

The ACPI messages are benign and can be ignored. There is no "native" eMMC driver so unless its using USB It wouldn't be recognised (unless someone wants to adapt the RasPI sdcard device to work with it..)

the eMMC is the internal drive where Windows 8.1 & my Ubuntu reside. Aros is booted from an USB FlashDrive
