Hi

The D520 came in three revisions. AFAIK, rev00 (thin white label on the back) was 32bit and rev01 and rev02 were 64 bit.

Be interesting to see how the HP gets atheros'd.

Hi,

Thanks, there are graphical glitches - so I tend to refresh the page or close the tab all together.

Sorry to be pedantic but the gfx is that GMA or HD ?

Do you run the browser off hard disk or from RAM: ?
You can copy the owb directory to RAM: and start it from there. Does it make any difference?

Until the latest odyssey gets used by native 68k, morphos, os4 we will not be sure if some bugs are in odyssey, aros, or both.

@SuperChicken

I would not say it was completely unusable, but it does have a few annoying issues which I try my best to work around. I am glad deadwood spent a year working on getting owb to where it is now - just wished he had more time.

Can I ask how you are running 1.25. Native or hosted, how much ram do you have, which graphics driver you are using and which sites provide problems and how are these presented to you?

I must say video playback on websites like youtube is not as glitch free as I would like but I muddle through.

Jeff.

Hi,

Sadly, AROS does not have a driver for this chipset. Do you have any spare pci-e pci slots available for Realtek ethernet cards at all ? Possibly wireless usb ?

Hi,

As to GMA, others will be better at advising but getting debug info might help see what is going on? Please search bifteck or sashimi.

In grub menu add debug=memory. That should 'memorize' the bootlog. Then you can use bifteck to 'dump' that memory. I believe bifteck resides in sys:tools/debug (it's a command-line/shell program).

Alternatively, if you have a serial port (or faking on if in virtualization software) you could hook up a serial cable to another serial port and retrieve the debug message that way. In that case you need to define debug=serial in the chosen grub-line.

Wifi, as you may have guessed the ar5bxx cards usually are covered by the ath9k driver (which we do not have - but always hopeful). The atheros5000 covers most ar5xxx cards. Nikolas pointed to mini PCI-e cards, do you have an adapter so they fit full size desktop slots ?

Wired ethernet, are the Network configs setup as automatic or manual?
If manual prefs, have you tried alternative DNS values?

Doing a quick internet search with the ar5xxx driver on a laptop with Odyssey

23 Sep 2009 ... r8169 chips on some Intel D945GSEJT boards fail to work after PXE boot ... I PXE boot. dmesg.broken and lspci.broken are from a bad board.

24 Sep 2009 ... Some boards are good, and just work

Could be one of those rare things a bad/intermittent board. Just an idea.

Hi,

Been playing around with the Color Correction tools, it seems any settings used in one picture are transferred to any other picture loaded after (although not applied) rather than the settings being reset. Just wondered if this is a design feature ?

Undo-ing any changes (F12 and Z) does not revert the curve back to previous setting.

I should point out it is only the curve shape not being reset - everything else is.

I am using the example picture(s) at the bottom of this page

http://photoblogstop.com/photoshop/ac ... -adjustments-in-photoshop

to mimic and test my approach at white balance but I seem to be only able to change a small section rather than adjust the whole picture. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Please ignore, dma issue.

Just tried a Live Cd from a day or so ago native on an AMD zacate dual chip mini itx which boots but freezes the system after clicking on any desktop device icon (window sometimes shows but nothing displayed). Then need to switch off. Tried on vesa 32bit and 16bit so far.

Would serial output be any use? Never done this so could take a while...
