Thanks for the tip. Changing it from 'exfat' to 'fat' did the trick!

Hi,

Running icAROS 1.5 my FAT drive is recognized and works fine. Since about icAROS 2.0 my FAT drive is not recognized as a DOS disk and shows the NDOS icon. Is there a way of setting up later icAROS versions with the old FAT system that works for me? Thanks for the help.

That's nice. Unfortunately none available now does. What e-mail program do you use with AROS?

I have not been able to use SimpleMail or YAM on AROS. I I believe that it is because of AmiSSL because my provider requires SSL for access. On Amiga OS3.9 upgrading to AmiSSL 4.2 fixed my problems. Will this be available in icAros soon? Thanks.

Using Icaros 2. The home directory seems to be in Development: I've tried assigning home: to there but that doesn't help. How do I tell SQLite3 where to find home? Thanks.

Also a new version of Hollywood would be necessary for me to switch.

Yes, the ALSA driver was selected appropriately by AROS once installed. Unfortunately, trying any audio app causes an error. For example, arModPlug loads the mod fine but on hitting play gives:

Program failed
Task: 0x90C19a) - thread.library thread
Error: 0x80000002 - Hardware bus fault/address error
PC: 0x98BD217D
Module arosc.library Segment1 .text(0x98BCEF40) Offset 0x0000323D
wait for disk activity to finish

mp3Player also gives hardware bus fault error
oops, so does DirectoryOpus

Must have some installation problems. My native and virtualbox installs work with icAROS 2.1.2. Was hoping I could get linux install to work as well. Thanks.

Thanks for a response. AROS tries to pick a codec for you based on your card in a native install. If your card is unsupported it will use the void codec. I'm not doing a native install which was why my post was under the linux hosted thread.

The icAROS manual is not about the linux hosted version so goes into detail about configuring the correct codec which was chosen by AROS during the install but does not tell you how to change to a different codec which was what I was trying to ascertain. What codec needs to be selected for ALSA or PulseAudio and how does one select that? Otherwise, I wouldn't have had to ask on this site if it was in the manual.

Now letting me know that there is an ALSA driver out there is helpful. I will search for ALSA and see what pops up. Thanks.

Its an old thread so please let me know if there is something better.

I copied these files & directories. The AHI prefs shows that void.audio is selected, however so I get no sound. How do I change that to aros.audio or otherwise change so I get sound?

Thanks!
