I'm confused: I thought you said in your first post that you could read your files from HD if you set IDE mode in the BIOS? If so, why don't you copy them somewhere safe?

Sorry yes I did once but after rebooting they gone and not visible anymore andI know I can recover them if I can remember or if found my little book which has partition sizes , it was aros: and work: but I can not remember sizes and I am sure it can be recovered

Just want to ask is there way to find previous harddisks partition size?

I know we don't have sfs doctor but 68k has some tools can they do the job?

I had icaros 2.1.3 installed and it was stable on my acer aspire one and i than decided to update system files from x-mass edition and my icaros stops booting half way on boot.

Than I boot my xmass edition cd and boots ok from the cd and my harddisks which was there before and gives me read errors and  it just won't show any files, btw I have installed and formated my hd's while my bios was set to sata mode = AHCi and now if I set my bios sata mode = IDE and boots via xmass edition cd and I can see my files and no errors and my question is why AHCI gives me errors but IDE don't?

Thanks for any help in advance.
