Has anyone tried building it yet?

Once PowerPC emulation makes it into AROS's version of UAE, will we be able to pull the same Janus-UAE trick with OS4 software and Wanderer?

It might be worth removing those broken themes, too.

Done. Seems to be behaving itself now, but I haven't opened the theme prefs program, because renaming c:decoration solves that problem.

Thanks.

I've been there. Don't do what I did, and have this as a background pic. http://i.imgur.com/XOj4QsF.png

>When you've re-installed did you use the same disk image?

Yes. Source and destination.

> Also, how did you partition and prepare the "harddrive"? (did you let installer do it, or did you do it manually?)

It was installed on partitions created for the last install I did of Icaros 1.5. They've been formatted both by hand, by the installer, and both together.

>Also, what storage devices are attached to the VM?

Just the hard drive image, and whilst installing, the DVD image.

Thanks.

EDIT:

A further attempt to reinstall produced these messages

After a reboot, the disk icons no longer appear on the Magellan desktop.

More symptoms.
I had got it to behave itself for a while until I changed the theme using the theme prefs program. I chose the wb31 lookalike theme, it asked to reboot, and voila. This time it played part of the boot sound.

Thanks Paolone.
Using the alt/ata device doesn't produce any noticably different results, but I'm now getting this message from VMWare both with and without using the alt/ata.device.

I'm beginning to suspect my VMWare.

As for the minor problem, I'm sure that Icaros 1.5.x let me change the menus to classic, because I cant read the translucent ones very well.

Hello all,

I've been tinkering with the new Icaros Desktop, and I've come across a couple of problems.

It boots, runs and installs ok from the dvd image.

Once installed, after three or four reboots, it stops working. Grub works ok, but after it tries to switch to a VESA graphics mode, it produces a black screen. VGA Safe Mode produces this window http://i.imgur.com/gUuAdCX.png
Re-installing solves the problem for three or four reboots and then it returns.

The second problem is somewhat more trivial. The IControl pref program doesn't make the Classic menu setting work. Neither Save, Use or Test will change the menu from translucent to opaque.

I'm running it in VMWare Fusion on OSX 10.8.5 on a Hackintosh.

Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks,

Leon.

It's in
Aros:utilities/owb/

The icon looks like a compass. It should probly be on your dock, too.

You could test it in an emulator in both cases.
