  • Bugfix: 2nd track curve drawing
  • Bugfix: Date/Time loading from GPX,KML,KMZ files
  • Level of Detail for Tracks
  • Precalculation of Trackpositions (Speed optimization for NonFPU systems)
  • Route drawing
  • Marker in Plot, shows also a marker in the Track
  • Turn off Marker, Track and Route drawing via Menu
  • Define Directory for Images via ToolTypes: e.g. DATAPATH=DH1:TmpDir

@wawa
Thanks,
as long AROS claims 3.1 compatibility ;) of course 3.1 haha, just joking, it's not really slower, just intuition feels like, reacting to clicks moving windows and so on (I know quiet well how that is, because my B1260 broke and I had some days only a stock A1200 at home, until my Blizzard 1230 IV arrived)

Now I'm a little bit confused, last time I tried on Vampire, it was not possible to select a SAGA Screenmode (e.g. 800x600x16) only ECS Hires Lace 16 colors and such stuff. Is this possible now?

@OlafS3:

yes something like that, but it seems, lately Gunnar moved his opinion about that, a little bit more towards 68060 compatible (at least in my thread) The only difference is that it is fully superscalar and pipelined, which means, just the FPU commands have to be in a special ordering to use the 2 pipelines optimally (so the 2 should not access the same registers for example so they can be decoded and executed in a parallel manner) This code would work on a 68060 will still work perfectly just without the speed advantage of different ordering.

In this thread is a good text by ChainQ describing small Hardware/SoftFPU solution which would work for sure and even very fast.

P.S. but halt back to topic, before thinking about supporting Apollos Hyperthreading SMP, it would be nice the SAGA RTG wouldbe supported, I tried AROS on Vampire and it feels slower than a stock A1200 ;)

you must read that carefully, I assume people misunderstand it. FPU is on to-do-list but it was never promised that it currently is integrated. Gunnar markets his core as 68080 so people say for that FPU must be included. I think it is a communication problem, Gunnar is a great developer but not a great communicator

I know but actually I think it will not happen anymore especially when now someone appeared who create a SoftFPU (kudos for that looks nice, just slow but I guess there is potential to reach maybe 68882/50 Mhz speed)
And it's comments about it in Chat and forum really sounds like it's enough as replacement so no FPU in hardware needed anymore. But one will see how the future will be. (The AGA stuff takes a lot LEs and FPU even more I guess the FPGA space will be too tight to make both)

I think you wrote that at the start when asking for a kind of survey but perhaps I understood you wrong

Something like, happens for my programs as well. Some people like things or miss things in Mapparium or so and write me or in a Forum to add that. And if i have time and the knowledge to do that I include it. And if more people ask for a feature as more likely it become to include that.
If the people only nagging about the software I have not much motivation to do anything... (a main reason my OS4 advances really slept in fast, they only nag about it even they don't use it.)

As I wrote... Gunnar could and should communicate the goals of the project and current situation

They communicate better than many others but there is still room for improvement. You would need something for people that are not there f.e. lack of time like a blog

I wrote to Gunnar already in the deleted FPU thread... I was not expecting an FPU in the Vampire because I took a long time to read about it. But I can understand other people are confused or even get the wrong idea, just by the Pages they have or you even find older pages of the preordering of Vampire600 V2 where it's even clearly stated that the FPU will be included, and people ordered because of that.

And that's fine by me... project goals can change.. (they meant to be change ) but this needs clear communication.
and not "I never promised that it will have an FPU" which is just a lie and the people remember that (even you can find such pages still). But you need to communicate that like
"Yes, we know we promised FPU, but we now think AGA/Pamela is a more sexy aim currently and the most of the Users will agree on that" Which is certainly true, and there is no question open.
Something like it... and that's nothing about need time or need a marketing, it's just respect for the people supporting that stuff.

Markus obviously sees vampire with apollo just as a 68k accellerator, but it is not and it never was the main goal.

It's advertised and sold as that. Still.

I'm not unhappy with my Vampire, the opposite, and I wanted to use my voice to make it better. (I even started to check the special AMMX/counter features) and my thread was not meant as nagging about a missing FPU just express _my_ opinion that it would be wiser to go to FP instead of AGA, hoping some more would agree on that (or maybe a special version would be possible, which is not as I understand now).
currently I'm not sure if I even install Gold3 if it gets released, for me it just steal me 4 MB of my 128MB ram to make it Chipmem and the real chipmem fades away... and the sound output got destroyed (I have not HDMI-sound atm.)

Markus said that the majority of users want new FPU not AGA

I NEVER said that, read carefully I wrote at least two time that "I know that I'm a minority."

Well, after some thought about the thread, Marcus was confrontational in his first post to be honest.
On a topic that has been done to death (FPU).

I still think a roadmap would have helped the situation, but in the end Marcus decided to be nr 100000 that poked the team about a topic they had already put to rest and filed under "not a current priority" due to AGA/sound thru hdmi etc.
I guess I was being unfair to Gunnar asking HIM to show patience with a person that didnt give him the same curtisy. Personally I got annoyed with Gunnar since I knew Marcus would react to Davids comment. But on the flip side, isnt it really Marcus that overreacts?

I did not react to Davids comment... I did react on some more comments which are not there anymore (I think they got deleted by admin or so) Also some posts got a makeover afterwards.

Gunnar is working like mad with the team, and gets nothing but critizism. I know I overreacted to him not moderating the thread. I just wanted Marcus to stick around, but in the end he was just being overly sensitive to a silly comment that didnt even come from the Apollo Team.

If you read carefully I did not criticized at all, I just expressed my opinion in which direction the development should go (instead of the current AGA/Pamela direction).
To have this opinion written down somewhere, to give it a voice, especially to not only nagging about missing FPU support but to show. "I know you have much to do I know many people find AGA sexy but I do not I would prefer you leave AGA away and make FPU" because it's not enough time and FPGA space to make both. The Idea about the branch was only a wild speculation because he always said the FPU is there, I did not know that it's for the wrong FPGA (thats really a big pain to transfer that to an other FPGA)

@cybergorf:

your tone is rather aggressive.

I wrote rather the same to Gunnar some weeks before
and I have to admit they did change the webpage and make it more clear

For example:

http://wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/d ... aq?rev=1493305023&do=diff

as you see they changed the FAQ about FPU at 12. June 2017 to a more real description of the case. for me thats ok already
