No I don't have a PS/2 keyboard. I don't even have a PS/2 mouse. However I have an adapter for a Microsoft USB to plug into a PS/2 port. That worked OK.

I have attached a ZIP file containing the hardware in my PC. I hope this help you find a solution.

In answer to the previous questions, There is no power management setting in the bios for USB power only to turn the PC on via mouse or keyboard. There is also no option to turn PnP Bios on or off. There are advanced settings, if you press CTRL & F1 but no additional options to configure PCI devices.

I also tried a generic keyboard & MS mouse. I plugged the mouse in the PS2 port and worked OK, but the keyboard still unresponsive.

Perhaps a problem with recognising the chipset. Works OK on my Intel Laptop but not on my AMD PC? Hmmm...

Thanks...

Firstly, my apologies. I don't usually look at forums. I haven't had the need so far that is until now. So I probably should have done a more thorough search before posting on this topic.

That being said, I took your advice.
1) Switching USB ports on my PC did not have the desired result. Still no keyboard or mouse. I don't use a USB hub unless they're powered but I have enough USB ports on the front & back, why bother with more.
2) I unplugged my mouse from the keyboard and straight into a USB2 port on my PC. Same result. No Mouse. I even tried the USB3 ports just in case but til no avail.
3) There doesn't appear to be a setting in my power management for the USB keyboard or mouse apart from a general wakeup if there is a key or button pressed.

Also I did noticed that after I booted from DVD and select the default option, the screen cleared and loaded up what I assumed are driver and settings, but I did notice briefly a whole lot of ACPI errors - device not found etc.
I disabled the acpi library from loading but did not make any difference. I also tried disabling the USBHID & HUB driver, no difference.

I'll browse this forum, perhaps someone has come up with a solution.

Thanks...

I can't get Icaros to work with my keyboard & mouse. No response whatsoever. The keyboard works fine from the grub menu and then when I get the desktop screen, none of the keys or mouse & mouse buttons work.

I have a Logitech G19 keyboard with the mouse plugged into the USB hub on the keyboard.

Is there a quick workaround/fix for this problem? Do you require any additional information?

I have had a problem with the sound ever since I installed the desktop on my machine. I have read through the posts and reconfigured the AHI presets and managed to get some resemblance of sound but it crackles and the volume is way too low.

I have used the desktop in a virtual environment and the sound comes up perfectly, probably due to the chipset emulation primarily being soundblaster or Intel sound.

When I installed an earlier version 1.3.3 there was some sound but with very low volume. I've installed the latest Icaros Desktop 1.4.5 with Patch 02 and now there is no sound.

By the way I am using the free VirtualBox by Oracle for the virtual environment.

I haven't been using this software long so a simple explanation on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated or if not, when will a patch be released to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Tallguy.
