I just got a Raspberry Pi 3 and would like to contribute to this. I'm fairly experienced with user mode C programming, but I don't know much about AROS drivers. There are some bare metal USB drivers that have been written, and we could possibly take code from them.

I'll try and see if I can get one of those toolchains to work (It's taking ages to download). The nightly build of mingw32-i386-system crashes, so I can't get that working at the moment. The problem with copying the Icaros development directory is that it still uses and targets ABIv0, and I want to use v1.

It would be really, really nice to have an AROS port of Scintilla, which is an excellent text editing library used by a lot of text editors and IDEs including Notepad++, Geany, Komodo, and Programmer's Notepad.

How do I set up a Windows-based toolchain for AROS? I know most developers use Linux, but seeing that there is a Windows-hosted build of AROS which was compiled under Windows XP, it must be possible to build the source and develop AROS applications on Windows.

Icaros Light no longer fits on a CD-ROM

I just tried to install Icaros on an old PC I have that lacks a DVD drive (only CDs are supported). However, the image size for Icaros Light is 699 MB, which is to large to fit on a standard 650 MB CD-RW. Since this is only a difference of about 49 MB, could future releases be trimmed down or compressed further? In comparison, Windows XP SP3 only requires around 500 MB of CD-ROM space to install.

Literally, all I did was minimize (or iconify in Amiga speak) a window, and click its button on the Amistart taskbar to try to restore it. When I do that, Amistart crashes with that error. I have tweaked a few settings, and I don't know if any of them have anything to do with the crash. Any program crash is a bug, nevertheless.

Here's a log of the AmiStart crash (captured by Sashimi).

Is Icaros supposed to turn off when the power button is pressed? Icaros 1.5.2 would power off immediately when I pressed my laptop's power button. But with Icaros 2.0.3, I have to hold it down for 5 seconds to forcefully turn off my laptop. I'm not sure if this is an ACPI bug or if it's just by design.

AmiStart has many bugs, but there's a particularly nasty one where it crashes when trying to restore a minimized window by clicking on its button in the taskbar. I'd attach a log file if I knew where the crash handler saves log files when I click "More" and "Log"...

CPU usage reported by DOPUS 5 is just bogus. It seems to never go above 10%, even with tons of emulators, media players, games, and demos running.
