As AROS SMP progresses and boots into more Computers I think AROS SMP should come on top of the AROS Focus and there should be a Bounty for e.g. Icaros Desktop SMP!

What do you think?

I would happily contribute to a bounty for a new Icaros SMP distribution.

The "problem" however is that smp aros is 64bit abi1 only, meaning only software for that arch will run. As such there's no real software base to create a distro around.

A bounty to produce binaries for 64bit abi1/smp is a better option for the moment.

The 32 Bit Era has ended... We live in Times of Intel Core i9.. we should focus on AROS SMP .. SMP is possible for AROS.. let's go for it and put the energy and money into this!

All Forces on AROS 68k and AROS SMP!

AROS doesn't need to be backwards compatible like Windows .. for the past there should be AROS 68k and for the future AROS SMP and AROS for ARM SMP and maybe PPC SMP!

Make the Hardware Drivers run on SMP and add mplayer, Wookiechat and Odyssey to AROS SMP!

IMR there is (was?) a bounty for an AMD 64Bit AROS V1 Distro.

I believe this should be done before going fully SMP.

As much as I would like to have SMP, there are a couple of tasks ahead of this:

- finalize v1 (it makes *no* sense to add SMP to ABI v0)
- migrate to 64bit (it makes *no* sense to add SMP to 32bit)

Then of course SMP must be finished. The fact, that it boots on (some) SMP-Systems, detects more than one CPU and can run some dedicated tasks on the other cores is still quite some steps away from real SMP.
