Hello
I recently installed Icaros 2.2 on a dual-partition drive and it wouldn't boot. GRUB stated that it couldn't find some file (I forget which) and pouted sullenly. It was a pretty bad pout, too; I could set some things but it still wouldn't boot or anything. I eventually wiped the entire drive and book Icaros alone on it and it was happy, but here's the basic problem I observed (modulo my memory): Icaros was looking for (hd0,1,1) or something to that effect. The actual partition name was (hd0,msdos5,amiga1) or something like that. I don't know where I should report this error, or if it's even easy to fix or anything, but it seems this ought to be relatively easy to fix, I think.

The disk or partition must be RAW (you need to delete MBR), then with IstallAROS choose first "Wipe Disk" and after restarting choose "Use exsisting AROS Partitions"

Hunh. So you can't add AROS to a hard drive with an existing partition?

Yes AROS could be installed in dualboot, it must be RAW only the partition to be dedicated to AROS

In general, you can, but I think the installer (InstallAROS) is buggy with some existing partition layouts. Did you use InstallAROS for everything? IIRC, (hd0,msdos5,amiga1) might be equivalent to (hd0,5,1), but if the numbers are different it might mean the installer miscalculated something. @amiga I don't know what you mean by "RAW".

Grub was definitely looking for msdos5,amiga1 when it should have been looking for 1,1. Or maybe it was vice-versa; I can’t recall now. I determined the “correct” names from ls and the like in the very limited grub that was there.
