The compiler is written in a mix of AmiBlitz and M68k asm, and the compiler still targets only M68k. I know Thilo / Wanderer (Hdrec and a bunch of other Amiblitz based projects) has been thinking about what might be required to make it more portable, but he has tons of projects going and I don't think it's his top priority. Basic dialects are usually "easy" to compile though, and I think the AmiBlitz compiler is pretty straight forward, so it boils down to someone finding the time to 1) replace the M68k only parts with clean AmiBlitz, 2) change the code generator to generate M68k. Then at the end of it you will also need to rewrite some of the runtime libs/extensions as far as I understand, as some of them are written in asm. It's not a technically hard project, but it is a lot of work.

AFAIK it is more harder. Wanderer also comes to the conclusion that it is easier to rewrite the AmiBlitz compiler than to make it portable based on the current status. He thought of a new A/A++ compiler for different platforms. Btw. I always found the bcx basic to c translator interesting since it starts to migrate additionally to 64bit gcc compiler syntax and MacOS/Linux. Take a look here if you are interested: http://basic-compiler.com/forum/index.php
