My problem is with the mainboard sound card to AROS 1.3.1 + last Parch, that perfectly detects

This is ahi audio card have two bios options (HD Audio or AC97)
The problem is that the volume is very low and I have to raise the amplif the max to hear something, AROS AHI tools will not let me.

I have SB Live! 5.1 Digital does not work on this motherboard as it emits a continuous sound like beep all the time when AROS uses...maybe this broken...ubuntu linux because I beep sound is equal

I think both options that you have, the SB Live Digital and the HD Audio, were not tested before.

If you have a beep with the SBLive please be sure you have set up AHI correctly (from the Hardware WIKI):

"If sound beeps in AHI prefs then all should be OK. Ensure you set the music unit and, at least, the first Unit 0. Select more than one channel for multiple audio streams, set frequency up to 44khz or higher and set the volume if not already set."

I have same issue when using HDAudio.
With the latest nightly the sound seems to work ok.

I want another problem in the installation,
would not let me go from grub with any of the options to choose.

In the BIOS of my motherboard I have an entry for access to hard drives with two options COMPATIBLE or EXTEND


I just had to rectify this only... sorry

For the latest version of Icaros 1.3.1 live DVD run change in the BIOS to COMPATIBLE and in the following fields is another option to choose only SATA or PATA + PATA or SATA only, I select PATA + SATA. but now I see the HD SATAs HDTools only IDE ....

I just had a wierd problem.
After fresh install I had no sound, but I knew it worked in latest nighty.

So I dumped the AHI drivers from that to my install.
No sound, so I gave up. I started messing with Janus and Janus had sound. I then started messing with AHI and sure enough the sound was working perfect.

Not sure whats going on there.

For the moment, you should always go to AHI Prefs after an install and make sure the right sound mode is selected for all five units. Hopefully in the future it will all happen automatically (it already does in some cases if you're lucky).

I always maximise the volume in AHI, but it would'nt work :(.
Only after messing with Janus it started working.
