Aros still refuses to boot on my two netbooks(eeepc700 & eeepc900hd).
Anyone got it working?. I don't want to buy new hardware just to run aros.

_ThEcRoW i have eeepc900 and boots ok here...

if you are trying to boot via sd than take out the sd card and take the battery out and wait for couple of secs.

and reboot and goto bios and do your setting again than save reboot and everyting should be ok mmm well i hope.

I tried to boot using an external dvd drive.
It worked booting other systems, even android for one of them, so the drive is ok. Whatever option i choose on the boot menu of aros live cd, it wont enter workbench, always black screen. I have the asus eeepc900hd(is a celeron900 but with 160gb drive).
On the 700 the same happens.

At the Crow:
Can you get a grub screen?
Go into it and see if you can disable some of the ohci items.
I did that to get Aros 64 to run on my 64 bit machine.
I got rid of the last 4 lines and then worked my way up.
That is by replacing the ohci lines etc. until it worked.
You may have to even remove the usb line.
Then use the key combo. to boot.

I have had problems booting with a flash drive in the usb port.

It shows the grub screen selection for the resolution, but selecting any of them, it always end in black screen.
You are referring to pressing the "e" key at grub, and editing the lines of the configs?.

Try pressing E on the default VESA entry, and delete the VESA setting. When you press Ctrl-X, you should boot in VGA mode, where you'll at least get some text that might be useful. Also, remove all other USB devices.

@trekiej

Those tips don't apply to 32-bit AROS.

I've got Icaros 1.3.3 to boot from a usb flash drive on my eeepc 2g surf (700) by setting the grub command ATA=nopci,nolegacy to disable the onboard ATA. IntelGMA works with the ForceGMA tooltype set, and hdaudio & wireless both work perfectly.

I've been able to boot with ATA enabled by using ATA=nodma,nopoll,32bit and I've got as far as repartitioning the internal SSD to SFS. After a reboot this command doesn't work and the boot process stops at the ata_ResetBus(0) line.

If I try to edit and execute a command line directly from the grub menu the eeepc normally just reboots but on a few occasions the above line has worked.

@jgideon600

Please tell us the PCI IDs for your GMA graphics, so that FORCEGMA won't be necessary in future versions.
