Today I released a new AspireOS ISO. It is now in the upload que in the AROS archives.

http://archives.aros-exec.org/downloa ... =queue/aspireos_v.1.6.rar

I will not release any update this time. Existing AspireOS users would have to either take backup of old installation and install from scratch or copy files from CD over old installation.
AspireOS "Let there be rock" will be more global. I have included all drivers found in other distributions or AROS night build. Developer files are also included so you now have the choice to install it from the installer. New with the release is that Games are not included, I uploaded a sepperate archive for the Games. This is to save space. I like AspireOS to be in AROS archives and on Aminet where files size are limited.

Anyway. This is by far the most complete AspireOS release ever. With the work of our great Developers and first of all the great papercuts project, we now have a much better user interface where all normal file operations work as expected. We can now even iconify programs that supports it.

I'm so glad you made your distro more global as I've always liked the retro theme you applied to your distro. It just feels... Amiga. :)

XDelusion: Yes, I think it is more in the spirit of AROS to be global.

thank you!
anyway i installed the former release of aspireos on my asus eeepc 1005ha. It didn't work cause i tried to to install via vmware on an usb pen.
The only thing that doesn't natively work is wifi.
It's a very good thing to me you put developer files in it.
I'll have a new toy to play with!!!:D

a lot of thanks to you, for your work !!! i like your distro becouse is not so FAT as Icaros.. but icaros is good too... at the time to time i test AROS, i am more Haiku (haiku os) fan than AROS but when is releases some distro like Icaors or Aspire i always test it. now i can test new Aspire. its great that you keep drivers.. may be i will be lucky and Aspire OS run on my pc.

XDelusion: Thank you for the report. I will test this later today and find out what is wrong.

Skywaker: Glad you like it :)

Edit:
XDelusion: I looked at it now. OS 3.1 Theme is missing lots of files, that is why it make error (this is realy not my fault, it is like that in night builds too). I should not have included it. If you like OS 3.1 look disable decoration. Sorry about that.

first of all, thank you! when i stumbled upon aros aspire, i was amazed (and still am) how fast and slick you can go on the aspire one - great work!

however, since i upgraded to "let there be rock" i can't get no wifi network connection. are there any known issues or is it my netbook? under "who made who" and ubuntu, everything works fine... would be sad if i can't go online.

cheers,
stp
