Fasten your seatbelts, another mediocre port from yours truly! Today's victim is uHexen2, which is a cross-platform Hexen II port (oh boy!).

What works:
- single player
- OpenGL and software renderer
- sound
- music (MIDI, CD Audio, OGG, MP3, WAV)

What doesn't:
- multi player

A few notes:

Only works when started from shell. I have no idea what causes this, do not start from Wanderer unless you want to crash your system! :P

After copying pak0.pak and pak1.pak into the data1 drawer, use h2patch to patch them to v1.11. Unpatched (v1.03) data files might work, but don't report bugs about them.

For MIDI music download these instruments patches, and extract the instruments drawer and timidity.cfg into the data1 drawer. CD audio is not tested, but should work.

Wow, I feel so stupid. Actually I did try to increase stack, but it was not sufficient By looking at kas1e's blog I found the right size for stack: 1000000. Thanks for the tip, I'll update the archive soon with the correct icons!

Here comes a little update. I reimplemented the games' sys_findfirst/sys_findnext functions using MatchFirst/MatchNext/MatchEnd from dos.library. It was quite interesting, good fun! The original sys_findnext relied on fnmatch, which AFAIK isn't available on AROS. This caused all sort of funny behavior, because the game uses these functions to manage saved games. Each level of the hub has its separate save file, and each save slot has a separate drawer for these files. If you look at the directory structure you'll see what I'm talking about. To sum up: saving and loading games are working now!

I also included some neat icons, with the correct stack values set. These work nicely when started from Wanderer.

Just tried it now. Software mode works but not GL. This is with IntelGMA 950.

Interesting, it works with softpipe. Can you provide some details on that? Is there some error message, or does it crash completely?
