hi,
currently trying to set up AROS m68k on Amiga 1200, using AROS-20111013-amiga-m68k-boot.lha - I have a few questions/issues: 1. where do I have to connect a CDROM drive to the A1200, in order to be usable for AROS? (I have a M-Tec 1230 board with SCSI controller - but I'm assuming there's no AROS driver available for it. correct?) 2. can I boot an A1200 directly from a CDROM? (I'm assuming this might be possible with PCMCIA-connected drives, as a device "CC0:" is shown in Amiga's early-startup settings.) 3. if not, then what's the amiga-m68k-bootISO file for? 4. AROS-20111013-amiga-m68k-boot.lha should contain a ArosBootstrap-file which should allow me to boot AROS by executing it from a running AmigaOS. correct? 5. the aforementioned file is not present in the aforementioned archive, which is a bug (in the building process). correct? 6. booting the .adf floppy image file (provided by the aforementioned archive) crashes the machine. can someone confirm? ( tried real A1200... (floppy pretty much ignored, boots from hd) (please note that I only have a HD floppy handy - do I need a DD floppy disk for A1200's internal drive? writing to disk with adf2disk seems to work fine with HD floppy) ...and E-UAE (seems to read from floppy image, but seems to crash and restart over and over again) ) 7. what is the aros-amiga-m68k-ram.elf file (provided by the aforementioned archive)? thanks, regards, Ro

not correct. ArosBootstrap can be found on the bootdisk.adf in boot/ directory. Quote:
not correct. see above. Quote:
regarding A1200: cannot confirm. retried with several old DD disks, worked partly, AROS seems to boot from floppy disk (until read-errors occur, most likely due to old floppy disk media) (note: re-writing .adf-image to disk over and over again seems to fix errors)
