I have an almost functional PhysFS port. I ported it for Neverball. Sadly it still has some problems with paths which I couldn't track down. That's why Neverball is in the freezer for the time being.
The source of the AOS4 or MOS port would help a lot

I've never had to play with this kind of stuff... hope I'm not talking bullshit! But perhaps the function __path_normalstuff_u2a() in clib/__upath.c can be a source of inspiration for handling path conversions?

Hi BSzili,

I'm hiding behind the same excuse bal000 is using

but since i do not know the origin of the problem i thought i can take a shot as well

When marcus ported fpc he made some changes concerning paths. You can read about it in this thread . It might give some insight as well. Especially this post and this post.

Just a longshot,

ps perhaps its wiser to let further discussion of this topic in a seperate thread to not derail this one. sorry kas1e.

In brief how everything looks like about PhysFS: On os4 / morphos we have some old versin (1.0 or 1.1 not so remember), which kind of works (i for myself test only os4 version). I assume when MickJT build NeverPutt/NeverBall for os4 he also use that version. But most of new games (and not only Epiar, but some others as well) want newer version of PhysFS.

I just then try to find out sources of os4 port, and can't (because its as usually closed source), but port from morphos are open sourced (and on aminet). So, i just take it as reference and try to adapt changes in the same way for, and have no luck. Then i just try to port mos version to os4, to check, if example will works: and examples do not works either. So , without knowing that my own version works with examples, i can't be sure that it will have no problems with games. I of course tryed to compile my own one with Epiar, but its just crashes and so on (and i do not know if because of PhysFS, or maybe something else).

In other words we need latest version of PhysFS, and to test by its examples that it works.

That no problems, more info the better, and will be good to have that PhysFS of latest version for all the oses.

In that case

i concluded that i could not find any sources of Neverball/put on aminet, but here i did came accross the source of neverball 1.5.1.

Dunno if it was already found and if it will help bszili though :S

red: ah /me stupid as i did search the other end . here is physfs 1.1.0. So indeed a bit old but perhaps can help.

@magorium
Even 1.1.0 is still old, 2.0.2 is the latest.

Well I's a shame since I wished to update AROS Playground further. Epiar was a nice candidate...
But more importantly I wish there was new major candidate so one could alter the feature banners and such on the site...

AROS needs more games!!!

Don't worry, a PhysFS port is in the works. There is already a working version (see Neverball), but I still have to fix a few bugs.

Some demoscene related stuff: Hugi SE #4. AOS4/ AROS(abi v0/i386) /MOS. Its kind of heavy music box (about 100mb of music) + all the coding related articles from all the hugi issues (some of them amiga related, some of them general)
