Does GREEK really work on IcarosDesktop??? |

Hi everybody! Merry Christmas!
I have finally built a pc that can work with AROS perfectly, but i can't get the greek language to work. Greek letters on the internet are visible, but not in the system. I can't write nor read Greek. Is there a solution??

Try changing the fonts in the Zune prefs. At least for the Russian letters it helped.

Hi. Unluckily i am not very good with international characters. I guess you should install some greek truetype font. If you find a solution please describe it here, so i can reproduce it in next releases of icaros.

@ amigamaniac ...actually i cannot find the Zune prefs...
@ paolone I found some greek ttf on the internet, how do I install them?

Unpack the ttf files into fonts:TrueType/ drawer. Use then fixfonts and ttfmanager to finalize installation and codepage selection.

Ok, I double-clicked the FixFonts icon but nothing happened.
Then I opened the FTmanager, I selected the greek fonts and pressed "install" . Nothing.

Ok, but after you've installed fonts, have you selected them for system, bars, etcetera?

Hi guys, Happy New Year! Best wishes to you and your families!
About the fonts, when i pressed the "install" button on FTmanager nothing happened. No bar loading, no message, no confirmation, nothing. As for the "system, bars, etcetera" selection, where do I go to do this? Sorry for these questions. They may sound silly to you, but for the last 14 years, my brain works in "PC mode"...

Hello again, it's been a while...
Well, I just wanted you to know that nothing works. The only breakthrough was that the menus and other words were replaced by greek letters. NOT greek words, just greek letters which of course have no meaning. I don't want to replace everything (menus, names etc) with greek words. I just want the OS to give me the ability to write (and of course read) Greek. To just support my language. To be able to open and read a greek txt. I guess it's not possible, anyway thank you all very much for trying to help me!!
