Good morning

I contacted the Realsoft were not aware of aros, I explained that it would be very nice to have Real3D on our system, they responded positively.

"Hello,

I'm happy to see AmigaOS is still alive and under development!

Yes, it is certainly possible.

I'll see if I can set up aros on virtual box and give it a go."

hi all

Hi Sabbate,
Wow, thanks for that. A native 3D application would be great to have - they would certianly have at least one customer here.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Hi everyone, and thanks for your interest to Real3D/Realsoft3D.

I cannot promise anything, however the software is based on a cross platform API consisting of some 50 classes, most of which have already been ported to Amiga. I could perhaps let one of us to have a look at the ported code to see how it compiles on aros. If the old Amiga Intuition API is still there then it might not be that big job to finish the port.

I couldn't find git nor emacs installed by default. Are these available on aros?

Thanks

Hi juha,

Indeed. Neither git or emacs are installed as they are non existent for AROS.

depending on your wishes (i am aware emacs can do more than play editor) you could use another syntax highlighting editor such as Annotate. there's a svn client available in the aros archives here

As an alternative, you could install AROS hosted under linux (or windows) and use host side for use of those softwares missing in native AROS. Any host directory can be 'included' at AROS side.

In case of questions, feel free to ask. Many thing are written in the icaros desktop manual or aros wikibook.

Intuition, gadtools and MUI (AROS named it Zune) api are available for AROS. no guarantee that everything works 100% similar though but in theory it should (otherwise it can be considered either a bug or a workaround is possible).
