OWB problem too...

Hi, I read the "OWB crashes after putting webadress" thread and I even posted but I cannot see the post so I decided to post a new thread with my problem...
I'm finally online with AROS. I bought a wireless pci
TP-LINK TL-WN350GD that jeffrey1138 suggested in another
post and i got it working. But OWB crashes and after reading
the "OWB crashes after putting webadress" I realised that
it happened to people with no fully compatible cards and
they solved it by installing a compatible one.
So why did it happened with the TL-WN350GD? Any ideas, please;
SabreMSN works fine. I can chat for hours, so there is no
connection issues. Only OWB crashes.
Thank you.

DoctorGalifrean: Can you please tell us in detail about what AROS distribution you are using and what hardware ?

Are you running OWB by clicking on icon or from shell ?

If from shell be sure to set stacksize up to something like 250000

I installed Icaros Desktop 1.3.3 (and the 3 patches that followed) on a pentium4 (1.7), the motherboard is a Gigabite
with onboard sound card, 655 MB sdram, the graphics card is a GeForce2 MX-40 (64MB) and the pci wireless card is a
TP-LINK TL-WN350GD.
I can skip the boot issues (I boot it with the DVD, press
ctrl+alt+del, when the DVDAROS starts i remove the disk and
restart AROS, then my AROS starts. IF I DON'T do that then I DON'T have AROS or a working pc because is the only OS),
but i can't think of a pc without internet.
I had problem with the wireless at first but it had to do
with the DNS settings. I run "ifconfig -a" and i put the
broadcast IP in the secondary DNS and i worked.
SabreMSN as i said works fine, only the OWB doesn't.
I run it by clicking the icon.
I read your manual but i couldn't find anything that
has to do with it.

Soft rebooting still isn't recommended. In my experience, AROS often seems to be unstable after it. So maybe you should try to find a way to boot without this.

Would you be able to test a wired card to see if it works better?

Also, it might be nothing to do with your problems, but you shouldn't need to use those strange network options. If DHCP doesn't work for you, try to set up a manual config in the network prefs GUI.

"If DHCP doesn't work for you, try to set up a manual config in the network prefs GUI."
What do you mean? I already did it manually.
I tried every possible way to boot AROS (at least every way I could think of) and nothing worked... luckily i found the ctrl,alt,del + soft reboot solution. As I said, it's either
this or NO AROS...

Hi again....
I installed 1.4 but the OWB problem stil exists.
The error is:
"Sanity check in memory list failed"
So is it possible that there is not enough ram?
(2 - 256 and 1 - 128 on the pentium)
Or is it something else?

Well, having 512 MB of RAM might be helpful... What kind of ram modules are you using? maybe I still have some spare at home...

That's the same error I get from OWB... if it doesn't freeze the system. Sometimes it say something like "unknown cpu error"... I don't remember exactly. BTW, I'm using a 512mb Kingston dimm.

@Yanosh

What network card are you using?

@DoctorGalifrean

Do you still need to do a soft reboot during start-up? What happens if you try to boot straight from HD?

My network card is an Intel Pro 100. The oldest OWB work quite stable, but the updated one and the new OBW crash too often with the same problems.
