I have no plans on moving it there, i merely mentioned that the poularity of FB is one of the reasons this site has less traffic =).

I do have some time right now but i do not have the money i would need if i wanted to redo this site the way i would like to.

For one i would have liked to get a better CMS system.

VBulletin is one i have been taking a peak at but it costs 249USD, something i just can not shell out on my own right now.

As i said earlier i am still doing some thinking about what i should do, one could be that i opened a more general Amiga forum where AROS Exec was part of that site but i guess not everyone would welcome that idea .

The traffic might be lower than it once was, but I and probably other regulars really enjoy the site.

Can only agree.

Good to hear there are still some out there who enjoy using this site :).

nothing against it, but i doubt that it would be sensible.there are amiga sites out there, and they experince as much drop in traffic as here. as a plain visitor, i dont have numbers, but you simply see that and that there is no staff so they could even maintain them. the exceptions are eab and a1k, and ppa in poland for that matter. usually genuine amiga oriented. ok, apollo site grows. but usually attempts at establishing a fair cross over amiga site failed, or even were doomed to fail, such as amigaforum.de. sorry to say.

General amiga forums just tend to spiral down into pointless arguments and trolling anyway.

I appreciate that there is a dedicated AROS site like aros-exec.

Remembering comp.sys.amiga.advocacy ... I don't know, if there is really a spinning down. I guess the trolling has been there always. Maybe the amount of real discussions (or the real topics to discuss) tends to spiral down.

So true. As we most also know and sometimes use Amigaworld.net we know it is a very different tone than here.
I'm proud we can behave and act in most cases as a mature and good community.
That is what matters in the end.

the amiga forums do not spiral down in terms of "trolling", if this is the correct description of a usual kind of discussions carried out on, say, aw.net. but in terms of attendance.

but does it matter, when regular topics are mesmerisely circling around shady subjects with very little factual content, like "what is amiga" or "why doenst it take off" or "how could we cooperate, if we would". or "just dreaming". bring up some practical subject and it will be ignored. except those genuine amiga hardware sites, that is.

wawa: I've seen the threads or similar that you mention that I would never attend or read.

The maybe greatest problem that I think especialy we encounter at amigaworld is that many people are dedicated to one platform. You could kind of compare them with someone that supports lets say a football team (for sure not the best comparison) but most don't change team when they loose. There are still no doubt that the best teams gain supporters.

There are different kind of people. Some like the mother some like the daugther, some like both and some don't like any of them ;)

At least here we have a common interest and that is why aros-exec is important.
It is also important to gain supporters as we hopefully get better.
