Search a folder gfx that the directory isn't there, so you have to download other files!

I have to admit, the initial version was severely handicapped: it couldn't load any compressed graphics or music. I did not notice it, because I haven't even tested Nexuiz due to disk space issues. I finally migrated my stuff to a larger VDI HDD image, and fixed everything (hopefully).
I tried Nexuiz too, and it seems to work. It was only a brief test, because the whole game runs with about 1fps in a 320x240 window, including the menu.
I need you to test the damn thing, the links are in the frist post.

ps: All the offscreen gecko stuff replaced with stubs, so no ingame web browser, and expect some messages in the console about it. The multiplayer won't work yet.

Hi BSzili,

Have you replaced the binaries with the updated version that uses the static linked code?

I have the same issue. Copied all the files from the official nexuiz-252, copied in the AROS binary, launched it and could make out messages about missing gfx/ files.

Any idea where they come from??

Tried Nexuiz-sdl and it works in single player tutorials. But the 890MB pak file is huge

Have not got the joypad(s) working for me yet so cannot get further. This may not be a problem with your port, just my usually issues with joypads - cannot use mouse/keyboard combo to save my life

Jeff.

Hmmm... Where do you launch the game from? I have it installed on a USB key with ICAROS, and the system has 4GB RAM. The Gfx card is G84 based (Quadro Fx 370) but only has 256MB VRAM.

Kalamatee: The gfx/* is in data/data20091001.pk3. Does it print the error messages in the console? What happens if you launch the executable without the data files?

jeffrey1138: I think it uses SDL to handle joysticks, so if it doesn't work it wasn't me If you can name an open source game, which has working joystick support, I might steal some code from it.

BSzili: This one called xrick have joystick supported.

http://archives.aros-exec.org/index.p ... =browse&cat=game/platform

for networking support maybe you could look at quake 3 and qube 2.
