amiga: I'm at work now so can not check for sure but I remember sashimi is moved from debug folder in Tools: to Development:debug/ folder I think.

Sashimi will not give you any info why the video player is kind of buggy.
We had this discussion with Deadwood and he did not know why it was like that. As said before I have a feeling it is a synch problem. Sometimes when I pause a video and play again it runs normal.

wawa: yes, I understand. I will try Odyssey more in the days to come. I'm exited about it to say the least. Seams like very compatible now. Video will for sure come where I show you speed, compatible with facebook, google, yahoo etc.

Thank you nikolaos and wawa, found Sashimi, he was in the ISO, i probably had not installed in the system "Development".
About the video OWB, I'm not a programmer but I think the fault both of the Player or the libraries used.

even if this is some kind of a sync problem the software should handle it. perhaps leopard webkit engine mentioned by a siegel does better job. or rather maybe its the problem with how the browser interfaces to video player, which is in /OdysseyWebBrowser/Source/WebCore/platform/mui/acinerella.c
which file seems to have been further developed till 2016 and then abandoned. it has changed so much it cannot be just easily updated. and i dont know about the functionality in question enough to solve it. for instance if ffmpeg is always called as soon media content is there to play or may html5 engine do anything such by itself.

As mentioned, leopard-webkit uses Apple Quicktime rather than ffmpeg.

In fact, Odyssey on AROS might behave differently as well because it uses a different version of ffmpeg, which might have issues not present in other releases.

no.

neither ppc nor 68k are working currently. they start, but fail on the different stages. there is solutions for the part ot the problems that need to be committed to aros once the binaries are proven working, but there may be some further more general issues, because there is more c++ stuff that fails on m68k since ever.

ASiegel: thank U for the info. What would it require to update ffmpeg to same version as on morphos?

QuickTime could also be implemented or what is your tought about that?

I hope you can solve the problems for the version abiv0, however fortunately you can still work discreetly.

If you don't debug it and try to identify what is at fault - just claiming it might be this or that looks silly.

Perform proper tests and add comments/debug to the code to see what is going on and try to understand why.

Speculating without really looking into it a> gives people the wrong idea and b> makes you look like you don't know what you are actually talking about.

It isn't helpful.
