Just a thought, maybe it is not allowed to do a windowtofront() on a backdropwindow ?

Updated the archive (same URL as before) with filtering out the backdrop windows.

Imo, SnapIT is better than the Aros ScreenGrabber, mainly because it can snap other screens besides Workbench. It also has more save format options, and 'free grab' is nice so that you don't have to crop an image later.

I did not see a ReadMe. Docs might be useful, since I was a bit lost at first. But after using SnapIT a short time, it became easy enough.

Somehow I managed to get the SnapIT window to freeze and reboot the system, but I could not repeat the situation.

And I guess you guys discussed this one. The preview does not seem to work for screens behind the workbench (unless I use 'free grab'). Even though, the saved images were all good.

Thanks, SnapIT is a very useful tool

@samo79

Ohh, many thanks for the translation mate! =)

@cavemann

The documentation (guide-file) is included in the orginal archive which can be found here : http://www.onyxsoft.se/files/snapit.lha

That archive isn't updated yet with the latest builds and since I would like to have this working on AROS and OS4 aswell before doing a proper release. I just added the betas here to let you guys test it for me since AROS isn't really my main system but I would like to support it as much as I can =)

Any feedback and bug reports are more than welcome to me to be able to do as stable release as possible.

@Onyxsoft,

Thanks for the new version and for supporting aros. i will try asap and report back.

I agree with what cavemann wrote. It's more elegant then current screengrabber (sorry to whomever made that tool).

tbh, i never expected snapit to be worked upon again (and have aros support), so thank you for doing so.

ps: it might be an idea if you have a beta test round, to open up your own specific topic as it can snow under pretty easily in such big topic like this.

@cavemann,

it so happened that i bumped into OnyxSoft the other day when i had some questions for my commandline snaptool i am working on. The mechanism for taking a 'snap' is pretty much identical

You are welcome
I suggest to open a similar (testing) thread also on the Amigans.net forum so the general OS4 community can test it for you too

@Onyxsoft,

Btw, it's a bit odd to see a version for Abi-v1.

Since Abi-v1 is the developers trunk, there's no need for a final x86 v1 version, as it would become outdated quickly.

Otoh, a version for RasPi

Oops: I forgot to thank you for pointing me to the guide. It answered my questions, thanks!
