I think I fixed the darn networking in uHexen2. The "function not implemented" error was caused by a stupid mistake, and not by an AROSTCP bug. ioctlsocket was supposed to be defined as IoctlSocket, however due to a lacking macro definition the preprocessor always chose the wrong path, and defined ioctlsocket as ioctl... This is one of those dangerous "it should work as I expect it" assumptions you make, without actually checking what the macros are expanded to, and what's in the compiled code. I'm going to backport the changes from uhexen2 1.5.3, and release a new version with working multiplayer (including hexenworld! ). This version can finally go to AROS archives with the sources

ps.: The uHexen2 guys have acknowledged my port on their site, which is very humbling

Is there already some FPS games working on internet multiplayer modes ?

It would be fun to make aros native competitions or simple friendly aros FPS events.

It could be also a good way to promote aros (annoucing on amiga websites and forums some events), showing 3d gaming features of it, perhaps.

Can't wait to finish my aros final machine with gt7600 (wich is one of the best choice I can have on agp as far as I know) !

There should be a few. Cube, Cube2 AssaultCube, Quake3, just to name a few. My Duke3D port is also has multiplayer, although the game gets out of sync when you play with a windows client. It might work between aros clients.

I don't consider the lack of platform interoperability a good thing. I will try to track down the cause, but Build games have always had a dodgy network code. It's possible that it doesn't even work properly with only AROS clients :P

Just joking, I'm not a fan enough to consider an issue a feature ^^

But anyway, in my "aros arena" concept, the important thing stills to have some network games on our plateform to create some buzz around amiga NG gaming.

Same here, my humor is a bit dry :)
I agree, we need need more network capable games. Nexuiz and Xonotic both look fun. If I ever manage to find and fix the file system related bugs, we'll gain two neat multiplayer shooters for the price of one. More precisely for the price of none, because both are free. And darkplaces engine runs QuakeWorld too!
