salass00: Thanks, I didn't know that resizing blocks rendering. This means that less frequent screen updates could help, like once a second.

all: I uploaded a new version. This one will handle unix-style wildcards. It seems to add the songs in a reverse alphabetical order though... what has taken readdir()? Now it's time to check out --scan.

@salass00:
Thank you very much for the explanation. I was not aware and it makes perfect sense.

Changing the task priority won't do anything to fix this.

correct, although it seemed (but might be my imagination) that the stopping of the sound started a little later.

Redirecting the output of uade123 to NIL: should work though.

In regards to your explanation that make perfect sense, thanks for the hint.
RED: forgot to mention it does work. _perfectly_

Quote:
Also in AmigaOS you should never use a priority >= 20

Yes, i knew there was a sane reason not to go over a certain priority, but i couldn't remember exact numbers. So again thank you for explaining.

New version with fixed --scan option. I also gave the player and uadecore a bit more time to find each other's message ports (4 seconds instead of 1).

Thank you for the new version BSzili :thumbsup:

I have no idea what changed, but in previous version(s) i was unable to play my dw-files (David Whittaker). Now they work \o/

uhm... are you aware that aros/amiga usually doesn't use * as anyfile-wildcard but #? ? (not that it matters much though, but it could give problems as * can be used otherwise in dos-shell)

Who knows, maybe something fixed it :P BTW, I choose unix-style wildcards, because they match the built-in help and the documentation Unfortunately matching for * and #? is mutually exclusive. One is done with fnmatch(), the other via dos.library functions. I might add a small dispatcher to support both.

I guess you'd be better support #? exclusively. It's OS-friendly, commonly accepted by users and compatible with the rest of the programs which may decide to use yours.

Ofcourse i have no clue if it is possible but this came to mind:
While instring('#?',stringtocheck) do replaceinstring(stringtocheck,'#?','*');
useearlierhardwork();
