Ho-ho-ho. 3 new ports for AROS:
- SoulRide from Slingshot Game Technology, a snowboarding game. I'm not sure if you can buy it anywhere, but it comes with 3 free virtual resorts.
- MultiRacer, freeware splitscreen racing game from Franticware. You can race against your ghost too.
- TailTale, open source puzzle game. There are old (2006-2007) ports for MOS/OS4/OS3, but none for AROS.
As always, everything is on my website.

I've decided to scavanger some PD code again, and made a small library to implement missing POSIX socket functions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkeley_sockets#BSD_vs_POSIX
The currently implemented ones are: getaddrinfo, getnameinfo, freeaddrinfo, gai_strerror, inet_pton, inet_ntop, poll, inat_aton.
The last one is technically not a POSIX function, but it's used internally, so it doesn't hurt to expose it. These should ease porting software until AROSTCP gets updated.
WARNING: do not overwrite system headers with the ones included with the library. They are only wrappers with additional types and function prototypes. Include them in the Makefile or the source files. See the example program.

Hi BSzili,
Just tried downloading the 'soulride' game, but on both of my machines (gForce 8400 graphics and intel GMA graphics, both Icaros 2, with two separate downloads for each) the program drops out almost immediately, just displaying the title-screen and 'loading textures' for a couple of seconds. I've tried starting from Wanderer and the shell.

CDing to the folder and starting with the name of the resort file after the program name gives the message "Can't open mountain data file 'Mammoth.srt for input", and indeed a seach for that file turns up nothing.

Do I need to download any further files from elsewhere?

Cheers,
Nigel.

Edit: had a look at the developer's web-site and found the resorts to download; unfortunately packaged up as a Windows .exe...

Use the included scripts to play the included virtual resorts. The default one is only available the retail version.

Ah - that has worked. Many thanks! Sorry - I didn't think to look inside those files.

Cheers,
Nigel.
