After copying the files over, and following all the above steps from Colani1200 etc, I am unable to get this working.. I just get the following:
[LoadSeg] Failed to load 'C:Shell' Could not load C:Shell Cannot open boot console I'm using Ubuntu 9.10, AROS linux-x86_64-system 20100327, and Icaros Live 1.2.. any help would be much appreciated!

You can't combine 32-bit and 64-bit binaries.

Aha, of course, since you can run 32-bit apps in 64-bit linux, it hadn't even crossed my mind that I was mixing them within AROS. *slaps self*. Right, I'll try the 32 bit version and see how that goes :) Thanks!

OK, got Icaros running hosted under linux now :)
I'm having trouble getting networking set up. Here's my ubuntu settings for eth0: IP Address: 192.168.1.64 Broadcast AddressL 192.168.1.255 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Route: 192.168.1.254 Primary DNS: 192.168.1.254 in System/Network/AROSTCP/db/interfaces I have uncommented this line: eth0 DEV=DEVS:networks/tap.device UNIT=0 IP=192.168.0.188 UP in bootaros.sh I have tap_ip=192.168.0.188 and this is what I have put in AROS: Device: DEVS:networks/tap.device IP Mode: Manual IP: 192.168.1.64 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gate: 192.168.0.188 Primary DNS: 192.168.1.254 Secondary DNS: 192.168.1.254 I've probably made an obvious mistake somewhere, I'd be grateful for any help with this :)

Update: also tried changing the ip in db/static-routes to 192.168.0.188, no luck. This is driving me insane! But I'm not giving up!

This is the mistake. You have to choose an IP from the tap network here (e.g. 192.168.0.64)

thanks, I actually realized that mistake last night.. bootaros.sh was also wrong. But it's still not working :( in bootaros.sh I now have tap_ip=192.168.0.20 and this is in AROS: Device: DEVS:networks/tap.device IP Mode: Manual IP: 192.168.0.20 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gate: 192.168.0.188 Primary DNS: 192.168.1.254 Secondary DNS: 192.168.1.254

Seems that you're using your router to resolve names (DNS pointing to 192.168.1.254) but then AFAIK the gateway should be the same = 192.168.1.254 , not .0.188. Edit: and you IP should be in the same netmask of the DNS/Gateway , so finishing with .1.20 (only IF your router IP address is .1.254) --LuKe

This is also wrong. You can't use the same IP for the tap interface and the aros interface. Try these settings: bootaros.sh tap_ip=192.168.0.254 in AROS: Device: DEVS:networks/tap.device IP Mode: Manual IP: 192.168.0.1 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gate: 192.168.0.254 Primary DNS: 192.168.1.254 Secondary DNS: 192.168.1.254

No. In our scenario, the gateway has to be the tap interface IP. @Pete: Try the settings I wrote above.
