update from 2.1.3 to x-mass edition HD errors

I had icaros 2.1.3 installed and it was stable on my acer aspire one and i than decided to update system files from x-mass edition and my icaros stops booting half way on boot.

Than I boot my xmass edition cd and boots ok from the cd and my harddisks which was there before and gives me read errors and  it just won't show any files, btw I have installed and formated my hd's while my bios was set to sata mode = AHCi and now if I set my bios sata mode = IDE and boots via xmass edition cd and I can see my files and no errors and my question is why AHCI gives me errors but IDE don't?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hello

Please notice upgrading from 2.1.x to 2.2 is a totally unsupported and not-suggested operation.

Aside of this, your problem might mean there's been some regressions in AHCI management which, if confirmed, should be investigated.

Since you've now completely messed up your old installation, I'd suggest to copy your data elsewhere and try re-installing Icaros 2.2 from scratch, using AHCI in BIOS to see if it's still correctly supported or not.

Keep your current jfif.library from Libs:, because you will need it with the Xmas edition (see the other topic about OWB graphic corruption).
