Hi, i have dowloaded and installed OWB on my nightly build AROS, the three versions available, 1.16.1, 1.16.2, 1.25-11. They are very similar and have the same bugs, work well with almost all sites but become unusable with some others like eBay where crash and i have to reboot AROS. Also they do not show some letters (like the accents) also by selecting utf-8.

eBay works OK for me (but just using a plain English character set), but to be honest I haven't updated my installs for probably knocking on for a year. However, I am about to do a brand new install using the latest Icaros and I'll check if sites such as eBay still work for me.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Another issue is about bookmarks that do not work and another is that often does crash at exit. In any case i see a message something like "wait for disk activity to finish". Everything is hosted on Linux with ext4 fs.

I haven't gotten OWB to work well at all, and everyone tells me it works ok. I have installed 3 different versions of icaros every way it can be installed and OWB 1.25 is simply unusable and version 1.16 is barely usable.

I have yet to receive a valid response other than "it works ok for me".

The last thing you can do is install a night build and try to see if you still have problems, remember to install jfif.library which is not contained in iso but on aros-archives.

Hi,

Can I ask if you tried running OWB from RAM: ? Did it make any difference ?

Are you still using the Intel Project board - intel d945gsejt ? Seems the board takes laptop ram - has this ram been checked by any testing RAM software ?

OWB is not perfect but can be a lot of fun. Just a few last thoughts.

Jeff

Already tried to run it from RAM but does not solve anything. My nigthly build is recent, it is of febbrary or march.
Another issue i see some time is about the scroll, simply it does not work especially with more tabs opened.

AROS is great but without a good browser is useless.

I have not tried that yet.

Yes, I have Icaros installed on the project board, and yes, the ram (2GB) has been tested and passed. I also have 2 linux hosted installs, 1 VirtualBox install and 1 VMWare player install. They all act the same way.

On a lighter note, I do like OWB, and I agree that it's a fun little browser. Version 1.16 works fine for most of what I need it for.

As far as Icaros goes, after ironing out a few bugs, it's quite stable. Considering there's no memory protection, so a reboot from time to time is warranted, all in all I'm loving it and use it everyday.
