Cleanup and Snapshot of folder Icons

I have the Aros version (2015) that came with the current version of Amiga Forever 2016. As I am new to AROS, I can't find the correct way to do a cleanup and snapshot of folder Icons. Selecting cleanup or update and then Snapshot of windows or all does not save the sorted Icons. Is this something that must be changed using "wanderer" Or "Zune" ?
(couldn't find the correct setting in either program)

Also I would like to use a separate window for each drawer instead of just one.

Thanks for being patient with a new user. ...Dan

To use multiple windows, go to Prefs/Wanderer, and choose the 'classic' behavior instead of the 'modern' one.

About your question on cleanup/snapshot, I don't understand exactly what you mean. Probably, however, you have the automatic sort of icons activated. It's another Wanderer feature you may be not accustomed to: just use prefs/wanderer to turn this feature off. Then, you'll be free to place icons wherever you like and snapshot them.

When I select cleanup on the upper taskbar and then "snapshot window" or "Snapshot all", as soon as I close the window and reopen it again, the icons are not as I arranged them. Instead of arranging to fit the window they are arranged in a single column and the window is once again very small. Every time I open a window I need to do a cleanup or update so I can see all the Icons at once.

You were right about switching to classic. It did solve
my problem with no multiple windows. (Thank you).

Regards, Dan

thats an old bug, i think it has never beed fixed. you may get the icons clened up and their position remembered, if they are very few, afair, while the rest will stay at the initial position and those added later will go into left upper corner, or something like that.

btw you are talkking about 68k version running under uae, right? might be sensible to update it to some later nightly revision. aros is progressing steadily and it shows more on abiv1 (which amiga-m68k target is part of) then on regular abiv0 branch (which is where x86 distributions still remain).

Thanks Wawa, Guess I will try a nightly revision. I am using a 2015 version of AROS that came with Amiga Forever 2016. And yes I am using WinUAE 3.4.0.

Hi.

Yes, you should really update your AROS installation, since from 2015 to today many things got better.

Strangely enough the fact that the bug is still there makes me feel better in one way. At least it's not something I couldn't figure out due to incompetence.
Hopefully it will be resolved in a future update because while I'm not yet fully familiar with AROS it does look like an impressive piece of software.

Thanks for the assistance Gents

Just Loaded the latest Nightly build (May 29 2017) and the cleanup and Snapshot seems to be working fine. If I had a tail it would be wagging.
