I installed 2.1.3 because the new 2.2.1 is very buggy. Seems to have some heap or mallac problems when apps are opened(crash). I'm here to get the 2.1.3 to 2.2 update if someone has it to upload. As of right now I'm stuck on 2.1.3

thanks

Vacation time often results in somewhat slower response.

I do not know the details, for that you would have to wait for an answer from paolone.

The fact that such update is missing from icarosdesktop.org download page nor any indication with regards to autoupdater so you could perhaps update from 2.1.3 to 2.2 seems to indicate that there were/are some serious issue(s) with 2.2 version of Icaros Desktop.

If that is indeed the case then i'm afraid you're stuck with 2.1.3.

Just to make sure: did you installed a fresh 2.2.1 or did you took the update path from previous version(s) to finally end up at 2.2.1 (and which is perhaps could be reason to cause you such issues) ?

fwiw: i never experienced any malloc (assuming you made a typo) related issues when using icaros desktop (*)

PS: are you running native, hosted or are you using a VM ?

(*) with perhaps the exception of trying to run software that requires opengl on a machine that has no supported hardware driver (in which case the software drivers kicks in and requires a shiteload of memory, think GB's depending on the gl dependent software being invoked).

Also, I don't think there's much/any difference in the system files between 2.2 and 2.2.1, so you might not notice any difference in stability.

I didn't run gdb. So I don't have no debugging output to share. Never the less I installed 2.1.3 and I'm very happy. I don't get no sound in 2.2.1 at all. Tried everything that I could find online as a work around. I get a tested sound output. But no sound output from software via games, demos, and music.

@rlittl01

Did you check if all sound units are set to the right driver in AHI prefs?

Tried that and still same problem. But, I'm happy with 2.1.3 :) I have the emu10k1 driver recognize and as stated. I'm received test output sound. Even in virtualbox I had problems with the sound!!!I also tried vm workstation to be sure.
