I have a silly proposal that most probably is impossible to be realized.
In few words, we have the linux drivers already developed that for their nature are open source and for which all technical details are known. Also the skeleton of the linux drivers is well known.
On the other hand we have our devices that are equally well known in their structure.
Wouldn't worth to spend efforts in designing a driver translator that from the linux source generate an amiga device source?

I'll also donate some money for new drivers. Raspberry Pi fully supported would be perfect for AROS!

@ilbarbax

I am not sure about the feasibility of this but Linux open source drivers are always a mine of information.

@James007 and AROS-Confidence1

I may set up a Patreon page for this work because I cannot spend the amount I did last time round but I want a lot done.

I will donate, but I need to know if the file system has been updated to something that supports more than a 128gig partition limit?

I need to be clear of my goals here, I am not looking to support niche hardware, I am aiming to support the network, sound and graphics chip sets available on most modern motherboards on sale today. This is a big goal but as with original iMica system which I completed I will do what it takes.

SMP is going to be the game changer for AROS, but it needs more than just this, it needs modern hardware drivers.

We are at a pivotal moment, Vampire will push AROS 68k and we need AROS x86 to be the daddy in terms of Amiga OS's which it pretty much is now and with SMP and 64bit etc it will be undisputed.
