Sorry my friends. Deadwood told me it is not about the money, but his motivation and he is is busy with other things. At least we tried.

The good thing is that our browser is still quite good so let's hope it will stay that way for awhile.

I have no idea where we could find some other people to do it. Is Fab also gone from the MorphOS camp?

Maybe we should setup a bounty for webkit upgrade in our port of OWB?

There was a guy on awnet who set up such bounty for ppc. Mostly js fixes. He eben claims deadwood fulfilled the bounty and He is gonna oax him out as soon as He gathers some more. Stuff like that.

In short setting up a bounty without having an appointed abke developer is wasting peoples money.

The bounty thing is a good idea but history shows lot's of project never been taken. That would say if I send money to power2people for a bounty as I did many times they can be locked.
I had this project once that find people to found the port of Audio Evolution 4 and that I managed well and the program got ported.
I think best idea is to find the person to do the job then collect.

exactly.

good example is the 68k kickstart replacement bounty. i paid towards it as soon as good people were appointed, who actually achieved it. before it has even been taken for months and years, alas by none who could deliver.

mt12345: Yes, exactly. The bounty system has proven to have it's flaws.

The bounty system is irreplacable in my opinion.
Sure it does always reap immediate results, but it shows developers what we need and is a permanent fixture.

You cant compare it to something people are pro-active about and say it's better or worse. Theyre just different.

The bounty system has PROVEN itself for years and years.
We dont need to replace it or pick at it, we need to suppliment it.

As for Odyssey, Im surprised no-one else has done it yet. I guess my mergers from dec. 2017 mean I have the most advanced Amiga-oid browser around on my harddrive?

Can't offer much insight as I only added anything that would merge easily, but from my experiences it's not too difficult to update here and there.
