I finally had some time to dig into AROS api (got happy from the smooth installation on Aspire ONE).
I have AROS v.1 running hosted on my x86_64 Debian machine and started struggling with installing the SDK and cross-compilation for x86 when it occured to me? Do I really need that one when I have the AROS source?

I was going to configure Netbeans or CLion and start to poke around so I'm not speaking C fluently unfortunately. I haven't done anything serious with it for some years, (since when I had to dig in to VsStudio/MFC to put some food on the table what should a poor developer do..)

Regards

Unfortunately the SDK doesn't get a lot of maintenance, so yes, it's probably easier to build using the source tree. I've never used an IDE for C though, so I don't know how well they'll integrate. You might have a smoother experience using a text editor (e.g. one with syntax C highlighting) and make.

Thanks for answering, then I'll just skip the sdk and see if I can get a decent makefile working instead.
And Vim will probably do, I was just thinking an IDE might be helpful since my C is rusty as ** but the struggle might lead to wisdom :)
