The fine tool is nice and works good but I get this message all the time.
Error: Can't allocate memory.

This is after I press the start button.

abi v.1 i386

Are you doing content search? If yes Find tries to load every file in one block.

No matter what I search for I get this message but the program still works.

From its behaviour, I think Find might be reporting errors regarding the access of individual files (without naming them). Thus, I expect it'll do just fine, at the least up until the problem file, which would be why you do get results.

Can you test this: What happens if you try in each first-level subdirectory separately. Do they each run out of memory, or only one of them, or none at all?

Mazze: Yes, I use Contents search.

Mysha: yes you are right. If I point path to SYS:C/ and put zip in contents and click start no error message.

If I use Path:SYS: and use zip as content after some search I get the error message.

I did not understand that I should use Pattern and not Content. With Pattern it works much better :)
Maybe it is just me but Pattern is a little confusing. Could it not be called "file" instead of Pattern?

The Find tool is way nice by the way :)

Yes very nice tool, but I get this error on abi-v0 too. Too bad the error does not go to stderr instead, then users would not have to keep clicking to close the requesters.

Well, where the pattern field is concerned, "filename" would only make sense if it doesn't recognise drawers.
Well, I think the idea is to search in files, but only to try those files that match the pattern.

The problem with those error messages, is that they don't tell us what file is involved in the problem. Would it be an improvement if the program did mention that in the error message?

Curiously, it will always open an interface, even when called from the shell and given a complete set of arguments. Is there a different command to call if you want to search in the shell?

Yes, C:Search. E.g.:

Search SYS: #?.zip FILE PATTERN ALL

I think I've found and fixed the error. The program chokes on empty files if you're doing a content search. A fix will be present in the 2018-05-02 builds (ABIv1).
