All tryes where done with 2048M memory for Icaros.

Never tried it with that high amount of memory!
That is exactly the theoretical limit of 32bit-AROS (Icaros).
Maybe try it with 512?

(we do not have enough applications to fill two Gig anyways - except for maybe the browser ... )

I remember some problems with odyssey and
a) no working internet connection
b) filesystem not writable

Sadly exact the same with 512.
I'm out of ideas.

[edit 1]
Now i have tryed noacpi, noapic and disabled smp.
It's allways the same.

[edit 2]
The last try was start a kernel without, spectre and meltdown patches, but again, no luck with icaros.

At least the last attempt was a test with aros-nightly 2018-05-21, but again, after installing and starting the browser, crash.

The solution: don't start the browser!
Aros is very stable as long as you don't start any programs....

Sorry - I can not really help her either...

PS: did you check all the filesystem-permissions?

It's not only the browser.
There are many apps which crash after some time.
It's all absolute randomly, i can't see any sheme.

Assuming they're used as boot options to Linux itself, they shouldn't make a difference. Options for AROS you could try include notlsf and mungwall.

It looks like Aros has problems with the memory management if it is running hosted. That's from the run on a 64bit hosted linux.

I don't have up to date sources but in the ones I have one problem with compiler/stdc/malloc_align.c may be:

when the mem returned by malloc is misaligned only by 4 bytes, then

/* store a magic number in the place that free() will look for the
     * allocation size, so it can handle this specially */

tmp -= AROS_ALIGN(sizeof(size_t *));
    *((
size_t *) tmp) = MEMALIGN_MAGIC;

/* then store the original pointer before it, for free() to find */

tmp -= sizeof(void *);
    *((
void **) tmp) = orig;

the store at mem[-2] (orignal pointer) writes to malloced_memory[-1] which contains alloc size later needed by free().

Example:
malloc returned 0xFFC.
After alignment it is 0x1000.
malloc saved alloc size at 0xFF8.
malloc_align stores MEMALIGN_MAGIC at 0xFFC.
malloc_align stores orig pointer at 0xFF8 trashing size saved there by malloc.

I'm not a programmer, so i have no clue, what it means to my problem. I only want to use Icaros.

Just to confirm, that code is still there in up to date source.
