Hi,
I downloaded the latest version of Icaros Desktop 2.2.2
I have read the compatibility of the wifi cards.
Which wifi card you recommend to connect with a desktop computer to the internet
that works 100%
At the moment I use TP-Link TL-WN722N is Alpha Network AWUS036H but they do not seem to work.
Thanks for every advice and thanks for your work!

Atheros AR5BXB63 wi-fi card.

Easy to find on ebay. Just add adapter to use with desktop computer.

The AWUS036H should work in theory. What steps have you tried to use it?

Also, there are compatible Atheros desktop PCI cards available.

Hi, thanks for the reply
I always used Icaros with acer aspire one and everything worked fine.
But the netbook does not work, it is broken.
But I would like to use Icaros on the desktop computer.
At the moment I installed everything on an external hard drive, to do some tests.
Later I would like to use it I would like to use it on my internal main hard drive.
At the moment I use win7, debian, and I would like to add Icaros Desktop.
I have seen that in some cases even on another notebook are not recognized all the USB ports but only two out of four, but even in that model is not recognized wifi.

I have read in the compatible hardware list if the ethernet card is directly supported, but my desktop is equipped with an Intel 82579LM and unfortunately it is not supported.

Honestly I had thought to use the athereos tab of the netbook to mount it with some "adapter" but here I stop, I have never used this type of hardware
so I would like to buy something compatible that works 100%
As advised by @nikolaos

I think I tried all the drivers available, but maybe I skipped something
Which "driver.device" could I try with AWUS036H?
Can I make changes to existing driver.devices to make them work with AWUS036H?

Thanks for a possible answer!

The AWUS036H may work with realtek8180.device. You can't change it easily as a user, but if it's just a case of a missing ID, I can add it for you.

Hi, I tried realtek8180.device but it does not seem to work.
I tried all the usb ports but it does not seem to work, the USB device AWUS036H seems not powered "the light does not turn on"
this could be normal until it is "mounted"
If I can be helpful with further information, tell me, thank you.
Also looking on the net I found this usb:
It seems to work with Icaros Desktop is right?
WG111v3 - G54 USB wireless adapter

It would be ideal if you can not solve it.
And thanks also @nikolaos for its availability
Thanks again!

Does a message appear when you plug it in? Does it appear in Trident?

What happens if you disable networking and run this?:

C:WirelessManager realtek8180.device
