Just received dozens of fully AROS compatible Ion2 based systems

Okay then, so I recently bought dozens of Ion2 based micro pcs, brand new, still sealed.

They're fully AROS compatible wth onboard geforce 9400 based graphics.

Once they arrived I thought to myself, "Cool, but why the heck did I buy dozens of these things?".

My 1st thought was to sell them into the AROS community.

For about $50 AUD (About $38USD) I can offer the mainboard/cpu combo with onboard hdaudio and gf9400 gfx, a 500GB 2.5 inch sata drive and 2GB ddr3 ram along with an external power supply (quite nifty little things).
Just to re-iterate, they're brand new, still sealed.

Is this something people might be interested in?

I've not been following the "scene" of late, but did I misread, or was clusteruk doing a remake of an old case of his? Given that I have these things in bulk I was considering contacting him to see if he has any interest.

Cool tiny little, fully supported by AROS boards, Im just not sure what to do with dozens of them

I'd be up for one - but I'm sure you're not really after individual takers. No idea, but I assume the postage from Aus would be a bit of a kick in the nuts?

I believe you read correctly. Although he won't know me from Adam, I've subscribed and followed his videos on YT for some time now and yes, he's making a "new" case.

In all honesty I think Aros craves an off-the-shelf machine that can be bought. Just how powerful are these things? Are we talking Acer Aspire type machine or more powerful?

@MartinW

I have no problems selling them to anyone interested, regardless of quantity. No idea about postage, but I can look into it if you're genuinely interested.

As for how powerful they are, the Ion2 platform (what these are based on) is an ATOM coupled with a geforce9400.

I think I need to investigate more about them. I just had a quick look and from what I can see there may be little difference over what I already have, so I may have been a bit hasty in my "I'd take one" :D

On the one hand, the price you propose is a no-brainer. It's a similar cost to a Raspberry PI!, on the other hand, I have tonnes of stuff here already.

Let's see what others have to say.

I'd say it would be a lot more economical to ship just the board (and maybe RAM). The drive and PSU might add a lot to the weight, and people might prefer to use their own drive anyway.

The drives and power supplies are both very small and light.
About the same size/weight as a typical 2.5 inch sata ssd (ie. roughly credit card sized, but about 1cm thick).

Will take some pictures of all the components if anyone is interested to see.
I had to open up a set anyway.

In this instance I'm responding to AROS-Confidence, but same thing applies to anyone who received a more brief response from me earlier. If anyone else might be interested could they please let me know whereabouts theyd like one shipped to so I can get multiple quotes altogether.

I'll be going to my post office in about 7.5 hours already, so I'll check postage costs then.

Once I get quote from Australia Post I'll look into alternatives to try to get the best price possible.
Im under the impression international postage in Australia is fairly expensive compared to a lot of other countries, but I'll see what the best I can do is. Rest assured though I wont make a single cent out of postage. I'll charge exactly to the cent for postage.

At this point I’m probably more interested in exact specs of the unit. I’m not even 100% sure what it is but I’m guessing probably something like the Aspire Revo 3600?

But a quote for shipping to the UK would be useful I guess.

Sorry for the longer than expected responses everyone.
As well as these machines Ive started dealing in orange and raspberry pis, consoles, games, etc.
Opening week has been *insanely* busy. It's no bad thing, but a little overwhelming.
Threw myself right into the deep end

Postage is actually identical for both Italy and Germany. Im geographically fairly oblivious, so that may or may not be a coincidence.

For economy air it's 36.95 AUD (about 23 euro going by a rough calculation in my head). Ths includes tracking, but no cover or sign for on delivery. Covers up to 2KG, which will be enough for one or 2 systems (everything minus casing).

For the UK, its 35.19 AUD for the same type of postage.
