I run AROS 68k on AROS i386 using janus-uae
Very compatible. Impressed. Jit seams not to work. Any reason for that? Works with original amiga ROM and workbench.

Nikolaos AROS 68k without JIT is very slow, are you sure that JIT has been implemented on Janus-Uae? on WinUAE it works well.

About AROS 68k, for those who want to install Opus5 Magellan, to do this you must use the latest version of Icon.library of Peter and add some command in the Startup-sequence and use-startup; find all the info in the link posted.

At the moment the vision in the windows with "icons" is slow while the vision for "Name" is very fast, with Dopus5 however you will not have on the icons graphics corruption in the background of the dragged

amiga: yes, I'm sure. Works very well with classic Amiga roms.

There must be some kind of difference. I don't know what Janus-UAE does. Even changing CPU does not seam to matter when I run AROS 68k. There is one difference though. When I choose 060 I can run JIT but choosing other CPU types AROS 68k does not boot at all. That said 060 with JIT seams to make no difference with AROS 68k.

On WinUAE 020,040,060 JIT has the same performance no difference in speed

WinUAE 020/JIT/FPU it works well

Is using JIT on WinUAE as stable running classic games as without?
Running classic Amiga roms and JIT I many times need to turn if off as many games are not working or working little buggy.

That is the setting I use with JIT in Janus-UAE too. 020 fpu and JIT.

I would say that JIT is strongly discouraged for classic games, all games also WHDLoad versions will be fast and in some cases will not start. JIT and RAM is instead recommended for RTG games and Doom-like 3D games, etc.

The best configuration to choose on WinUAE to play and that of QuickStart, example:

A1200 -> Standard for AGA floppy games
A1200+4MB Fast Ram -> HD and WHLoad Games

Same type of choice for other Amiga Models (A500 / A600) according to the needs of the games

If you list the games that do not work on WinUAE I show you the right configuration to run them, at the time I have not played any Amiga game that does not work on WinUAE (I have tested in the hundreds, also installed on HD)

Janus-UAE (v1) is old, *very* old code. You can't compare it to up-to-date WinUAE versions.

It is based on E-UAE 0.8.29-WIP4, which was released in 2007 (and even then most likely based on even older UAE code).

Janus-UAE2 is based on quite actual WinUAE code, but is still an alpha version with limited features (no JIT there at all for example). But it has "QuickStart" .

Ciao o1i, Janus-UAE2 is it still based on an old version of WinUAE 2.8.1?

WinUAE 3.2.0 as far as I remember. At least the "About" tab displays 3.2.0
