Vim is a highly configurable text editor built to make creating and
changing any kind of text very efficient. Vim is rock stable and is
continuously being developed to become even better. Among its features
are:

* persistent, multi-level undo tree
* extensive plugin system
* support for hundreds of programming languages and file formats
* powerful search and replace
* integrates with many tools

Please note that this is not a straight port of the upstream version.
It includes a full MUI GUI with most of the bells and whistles found
in Vim on any of the major platforms.

amiga: How do you make use of the installer like you did here with Vim. I'm interested in using the new installer doing AspireOS updates.

Simple, like on OS3 you have to copy "Installer" in C directory, as required by the toltypes Vim Icon.

Nikolaos the ISO "Aspireos v2.1 native" no start on VMWare Player !

Amiga: I know installer goes to c:
As you said the icon of the program opens the installer, but where do you configure the program to use it. Let's say I have many files I want to go to different locations.

AspireOS 2.1 is targeted real hardware so there could very well be some conflict in VM player.
I will do a standard version soon that will work.
The standard version is 2.0 now.

Usually in the Tooltypes they look for the Installer in C, when it is different you can choose to modify the Tooltypes or keep the installer in the requested path, see video ;)

The tooltypes shouldn't be set to C:Installer but it should just look for "Installer".
That means that Installer is then searched anywhere in the Path, not only in C:

On the original Install3.1 disk Installer was put at the root (which is not better of course), but it was not copied from there to the hard disk by the installation procedure.
Though the recently updated official Workbench 3.1 distribution does copy Installer in Utilities on the hard disk during the installation procedure.

Of course the Utilities directory is in the path. IMHO it's the best place to put Installer.
