Seems pretty fast to me also ;)
preliminary test results give me roughly the following (consistantly) in vmware- ---------------------------------------------------------- AFS --- READ 1.6mb/sec -> 1.8mb/sec WRITE 0.05mb/sec -> 0.3mb/sec http://www.downbeach.net/~nicja/ss/diskspeed-afs.jpg http://www.downbeach.net/~nicja/ss/diskspeed-afs-2.jpg SFS --- READ 3.4mb/sec -> 120mb/sec WRITE 2.5mb/sec -> 40mb/sec http://www.downbeach.net/~nicja/ss/diskspeed-sfs.jpg http://www.downbeach.net/~nicja/ss/diskspeed-sfs-2.jpg ---------------------------------------------------------- I'll Have some of that thanx!

 That's one hell of a difference between AFFS and SFS. Thanks Michal!<plug>TeamAROS is still accepting donations for this SFS Bounty, but only for a short/limited time. I will try and get some "native-propper" benchmarks done so we can get a real indication of the systems performance.

The SFS enters a Beta stage now. The issues related to examine functions have been fixed. The SFS formatted drive is already browsable by means of C:Dir and C:List.
The open issues are: - checksums, they do appear to be broken sometimes - fixing endianess (a huge task, really) - adding some external tools (SFSFormat, SFSCheck and such). The filesystem may be tested now, but not used for real things. BEWARE! It is still as unstable as our FFS.
