If you're writing code on AROS, I (and probably others) am really interested to know what you're working on at the moment. I see what goes into the repository, but thats kinda slow at the moment, and its quite possible there's a whole lot of application development, porting work, and so on, that I never hear about! Me, I'm doing a web browser. That includes porting WebKit, but also means a pile of sub-projects - adding missing things and fixing bugs in the AROS core, porting other things that WebKit depends on, and writing code of course. My current tangent is porting the cairo graphics library, which I started a couple of days ago and am already making great progress on: ![]()

I am working on Mattathias BASIC. As a subtask of that I am going to have to port Low-Level Virtual Machine to AROS in order to get a good JIT and static compiler framework. Sadly GCC is not well documented and has no interpreter or JIT compiler.
Currently my plans are somewhat on hold until I get broadband internet at my parents' house so I can download all the code I need including hosted AROS. In the meantime, I'm looking though the documentation and trying to learn the differences between AROS and AmigaOS 3.x . My parents should be getting DSL installed next week though.

rob,
I am working on a fulltext index engine that could index any type of documents. The engine was formerly thought as a better and faster help system (replacement for AGuide using HTML pages), but it also should be usable as desktop search engine or a base for archiving documents. As an experienced .NET developer, I also worked on a port of the MONO framework which already compiled the most of the basic engine, but there was too much POSIX stuff missing in AROS (and I am not too deep in POSIX)... so I archived the sources for later retry... I also got my AROS developer access just before some days. I am now looking to fill some gaps that are not filled yet (Amigagude.library, german documentation translation, documentation extension - maybe security.library one day). Progress is slow at all, as I have a fulltime job and my family to care for... but there is some progress at least ;) Manu

I'm working on SDB, a database engine written entirely in LUA, actually I'm doing some tests and tutorials to discover bugs after that I will start coding to make SDB relational.
Progress are slow... very slow due to my RL work :)

AROSAmp is pretty much the only project I'm working on ATM. Time constrains is keeping me pretty occupied so even progress in that department is lacking. However, I hope to get more time for it soon.

I don't think it counts as "developing AROS" but I'm working on this website design and new services. I hope you'll soon see it and like enough to make me proud of it anyway. :)

I am working on the PortablE language/compiler - which now works on AROS, but isn't quite yet ready for a public release.
Join the AmigaE mailing list (and then make a post asking for it) if you want to try out a beta version ![]()
