Hi Yannick,
Many thanks for the update. ZunePaint is now my daughter's favourite drawing package, and she's enjoying creating using it.

I've noticed a couple of problems, though, which you may already be aware of. Firstly, when I've tried to save an ILBM it just saves an empty file (0 bytes) - the latest version of ZuneView also does the same.

Secondly, the icon bar at the top of the window is extending off its ends for me (the window is already as wide as the screen, 1024 pixels) - please see below.

Thanks,
Nigel.

My kids are also my first testers of the app!

Oops, saving to ILBM doesn't work yet, I thought I've removed the option, I'll make sure it doesn't appear until it will be working.

I still need to tidy up the interface so that it fits on smaller screens, one option is missing in Zune at the moment that could help (MUIA_HorizDisappear)
I'm hesitating to reduce buttons size, I want to keep them easy to read and understand by kids.

Looking at how I can rework the GUI to fit smaller screens, I came up with this layout:
Click to see original Image in a new window
http://hpics.li/b6b7821

Is this suitable?
Is there any other things you would like to have modified in the GUI?
Any hints on enhancing the usability?

Thanks a lot,
Yannick

I like it!

By the way, you can post images directly to AROS-EXEC and embed them in your posts. This option has turned back to normal operation for some time now.

Hi,

Thanks for the latest version, I have been trying out cutting out complex shapes from pictures, the difficult ones like hair, fur and trees.

I just wonder if there is a simple method to outline/create a boundary for any shape(s). Select an area or a rough shape where you want the boundary to exist with the lasso and perform Auto edge detection, use this information to create masks from the boundary found ? This might be better implemented with layers ?

In Paint.net you have to erase most of the background and then very slowly cut out small sections until the image you need is isolated.

I know in Photoshop, etc they have "smart" selection tools which form the boundary from within the shape and another option of pen tools which I am lead to believe pros prefer. Is this sort of feature possible and/or outside what you want from the app?

Hope you do not mind me asking?

Jeff
