The library auto-open information is stored in such a way that it doesn't work if you strip it completely. That's just a difference between AmigaOS and AROS.

Are you sure ? I would think the symbols that are used for symbolsets implementation may be stripped once a program is linked through collect-aros. The autoopening of libraries relies on these symbolsets.
I think it has more to do with ELF loader not recognizing a valid program or finding the start of a program when all symbols are stripped or something like that.

greets,
Staf.

completely different for LCL programs, since the complete backend of LCL is linked into the first size is 11 Mb of a simple window, can be stripped down to somewhat 4 Mb.. could be even less, but i can not strip all symbols from the file (strip --strip-all then its 2 MB, but not working anymore, "too less memory"(?), not a FPC problem also my gcc compiled programs, when strip --strip-all does not work anymore)

When I strip I have to use the options
--strip-unneeded --remove-section .comment

Very impressive, I originally used to think that it needs to be done native, but I develop Android apps now and that is done from Linux also, so why not this.

Many thanks for the effort.

Of course this will be the first Milestome , but if the LCL is working completely the step to working Lazarus is rather small

Do you like the Editors available at AROS? NO?
Then why not code a editor for yourself? Too difficult?
For sure not! using lazarus/lcl/fpc, let me show you

Today i uploaded the current state to Aros-archive so tomorrow it will be available for download, that everyone can play around with it.
But remember especially the lcl functions are in very early stage, don't expect too much. You are welcome to make comments.
The Example code produced in the video is also included in "examples".

name at aros-archives:

fpc-2.5.1.i386-aros.tgz uploaded 30.05.2011
