If I am in a location with more than one wireless connection, how do I decide which one I'm going to use? I.E. if I'm at the local coffee shop or library.

By placing its name in the configuration panel of AROSTCP (prefs/Networking)

Wow, everything I just typed got deleted and I can't undo it. :/

Anyhow, I just got this Aspire One, so all this is brand new to me. Can you elaborate please? Thankx! :)

Go to the Wireless tab in Network Prefs. Add any networks you may want to use to the list there. Wireless networks you don't add to the list will be ignored by AROS. For example, if there are two networks at the library, a public one and a private one, just add the public one to the list and everything should be fine.

OK, but how do I see the networks in the first place so I know what is available to add?

There isn't yet a tool to give a list of networks within range. But you can add a network entry with no name to your list: this will connect to any unencrypted public network. IIRC there's already such an entry present by default in Icaros.

So I have to carry an iPod with me at all times to see the network names? That's funny! The Linux guys will surely be laughing at me now. :)

poor you ...

perhaps you could write a tool to do it then instead of just trying to sound like a smart-ass - im sure that would impress the linux guys.

If I knew how to code one, do you think I'd be posting here with my problems?!

And besides, I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I AM a smart ass! :)
