Small update about Broadway X:
I am working on it : )
Today i made a clean restart for x86...
So i have done it today from scratch again... linux-side weights only 380MB which includes build environment and some apps like Chromium..

On my AresOne 2010 it boots slightly faster than Broadway native... well just because i made everything from scratch. Ubuntu wouldn't allow this.

So it seems that Linux utilizes the HW still a bit better (HD-access)..

My goal for first release:
No! Linux Desktop-environment.. AROS will be your Desktop environment.
A Linux-Taskbar (done = tint2)
Wine
Openoffice
Blender
Running Linux stuff 1/2 done... i have a minimalistic bash shell in my mind to send commands to the linux side. Or a command like "lx" in normal shell...

what would you prefer?
A small single line window likte "RUN/EXECUTE" in WINDOWS or a command "lx" for AROS shell...

Example: "lx chromium-browser" would tell linux to execute "chromium-browser"

So basically i am preparing a Linux distribution which uses Broadway as desktop-environment : )

Any wishes?

I will show a bit (and you can try it) on the coming AROS/ Amiga Event called Amiganoid 2011
www.amiga-event.de
Closed beta will follow.. i wan't to make website for special vip's in AROS-land and people who donated or helped me somehow in the past.

EDIT: Build system = essentials...

Well done! I am looking forward to test Broadway X/AEROS on my ASUS Notebook.

Ironically you have done more alone than the "Anubis"-team did in the past (they did nothing)...

One thing i noticed today is that Ubuntu sucks : ) Too much ahhhh and ohhhh....

As told i made x86 from scratch (but based on debian - so easy customizable)

Today i fixed my Efika MX (ARM) system... had an time bug which prevented from booting... the easy way was to use the official Ubuntu Image....
AROS hosted on EFIKA MX is faster than the host. At least you can move faster through your folders : )
So i am sure that AROS hosted can be the better choice than a full bloated Ubuntu on ARM.

That sounds really very interesting! That sounds like an OS I can (and would like to)use as my main operating system.

fullscreen mplayer? We have this already.
About direct drive access:
it is on the list.

what about the compromise: lx command and window : D

Little update:
I had one remaining problem with sound on my custom debian distro.
Well it was just because i tried ALSA with OSS emulation....
Now i changed to OSS4 and ALSA Wrapper.. this worked.

Just curious - is AEROS an acronym?
