ASUS EeePC 1001P or EeePC 900 Which to get?

I see the 1001P is faster, but is it FULLY supported? Should I go with the 900 instead? Is the 900 FULLY supported?

If I should go to purchase one of these models, is there anything I should look out for, I.E. do some models have different ship sets for the wireless and what not, so that after I buy in and install AROS I end up let down because a much sought after feature that I wanted is not supported?

Etc.

Please help, I'd like to have the PERFECT AROS machine this time. Thank yoU!

I do own an eee 1001px, it is great for running AROS, but:

- inboard (W)LAN isn't supported yet (but most probably you can use an usb2wlan adapter). I have found an Atheros AR5BX63 mini-pci card and I'll try to put it in place of the original one and see if it works... would be cool to try Odyssey now ;
- afaict 3D isn't always working (and crashes soon in such a case... and seems to be prone to crash when running multiple 3D apps simultaneously);
- the monitor default colors are way too blueish and it is annoying when you are used to use color calibrated screens, but unfortunately AROS doesn't handle icc profiles yet (I will certainly support a future bounty to implement the feature one day or another).

Though at this time, the perfect AROS (netbook) machine is certainly a supported Aspire One. Not sure if they are available new.

I am currently bidding on a 900 with the AR5007EG wifi chip set.

It seems to be the one that works according to this WIKI:

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Aros/Pla ... s/x86_Complete_System_HCL

I presume all the boot issues are now resolved?

Cool, just won a white one shipped and all for $114 from a next door state. Has supported wifi according to Wiki!

Now I have the same hardware of not 1 but 2 of my favorite AROS devs! :)

Are you sure the GMA 3150 is unsupported? It's marked as supported in the Wiki (but it's possible I added that information myself).

AFAICT from using my 1001px, it's supported in 2D (the driver even allows correct 1024x600 view, between other modes) and I wouldn't be surprised if it was accelerated as expected (are there benchmarks which would allow to tell if it's faster than VESA?) but 3D isn't hardware accelerated and falls back to software pipe... which crashes often in my experience.

BTW I just changed the mini-pci wlan card and the Atheros AR5BX63 I had found works perfectly. Congratz! It was wonderful to be able to try Odyssey for real.
